Mohamed Salah has cast fresh doubt on his Liverpool future after admitting he no longer has a relationship with Arne Slot, amid frustration over his diminished role under the Dutchman.

The Egyptian winger, left on the bench for three consecutive Liverpool matches, delivered a sensational bombshell following the 3-3 draw with Leeds Utd, expressing disbelief at being overlooked again.

“I could not believe I was sitting on the bench for 90 minutes,” Salah said. “That’s the third time. I think it’s the first time in my career. I am very disappointed -- I’ve done so much for this club over the years, especially last season. It feels like the club has thrown me under the bus.”

Salah suggested the forces that be at Anfield are attempting to shift blame onto him. “Someone wants me to get all the blame,” he continued. “The club promised me a lot in the summer. Now I’m on the bench, so I can say they haven’t kept those promises.”

The 33-year-old also pointed to a collapse in his relationship with Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp last June. “I used to have a good relationship with him,” he said. “Now we don’t have any relationship, and I don’t know why. It seems like someone does not want me at the club.”

Salah, who has scored four Premier League goals this season, also hinted that next week’s clash with Brighton at Anfield could be his final match for Liverpool before joining Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Asked if a January exit may be on the cards, Salah replied: “In football, you never know. I don’t accept this situation. I have done so much for this club.”
