22:35 BST - Haaland had 20 touches but only one shot at goal against Real Madrid tonight. That was largely down to the defensive work of Rudiger - here's a heat map to show the ground the defender covered tonight.

22:24 BST - Harry Kane says Bayern Munich had to change the way their approached the game because of how strong Arsenal are at keeping the ball.

"I think you've seen it probably over the past couple of years, probably in my last season at Tottenham they were really strong and they had a good go at trying to win the league," he told TNT Sports.

"They are a really good team. We changed our plan a little bit today in terms of how we defended without the ball, more of a 4-4-2 and then had to work and had to dig deep because they keep the ball well and find the spaces.

"We know we're playing a top team, they're top of the Premier League for a reason so it was a tough game."

22:11 BST - What a night of Champions League action in London and Madrid.

21:55 BST - FULL-TIME: The final whistle has gone in Madrid as well. It was an incredible game for the neutral, with the lead changing hands continuously.

City went ahead from the outset, with Silva putting a cheeky free kick into the bottom left corner, before City hit back through a one-two from Camavinga and Rodrygo to take the lead.

City then offered up a one-two if their own in response, with Foden and Gvardiol each taking aim from outside the box to curl the ball past the keeper as City went 3-2 ahead. From there, however, Real Madrid hit back through a smashed volley from Valverde to make it 3-3. We were served up a classic, and it's sure to be more of the same next week.

21:53 - FULL-TIME: It's all over at the Emirates, where both teams with feel a little disappointed with a draw - although Arsenal certainly moreso.

The hosts were 1-0 ahead through Saka and seemed to be in control, before Gnabry neatly finished from close range to draw level and then Kane stepped up to give Bayern the lead from the spot. In the second half there was just the one goal from Trossard, which was brilliantly set up by Jesus, as the momentum swung again.

The teams will now head to Munich for the second leg with neither gaining any kind of advantage in north London.

21:39 BST - GOAL! Real Madrid are level again! The ball was crossed into the box by Vinicius Junior, and Valverde came in with a slamming volley into the bottom corner. Game well and truly on.

21:38 BST - In the Women's Euros qualifiers, Scotland have secured a 1-0 victory over Slovakia thanks to Sophie Howard's goal. It means Scotland are unbeaten in the League B qualifiers, having drawn with Serbia 0-0 last week.

21:33 BST - GOAL! Trossard has made it 2-2 in north London! He deserves credit for the clinical finish, but the fast feet from Jesus to set up the goal was unbelievable.

21:31 BST - GOAL! Two in two! It's come from Gvardiol this time, who obviously watched Foden's goal and wanted a piece of the action. He unleashed from the edge of a box in what was nearly a mirror image of Foden's goal to put City 3-2 ahead in Madrid.

21:26 BST - GOAL! Who else but Foden?! The Man City man gets the ball on the outside of the area and wastes no time in hitting a perfectly-struck shot into the top left corner. He could scarcely have placed it any better, and as a result Man City are now level with Real Madrid at 2-2.

21:20 BST - Things have wrapped up at the Aviva Stadium and England have come away with a 2-0 victory through goals from Lauren James and Alex Greenwood. A good result after their stuttering 1-1 draw with Sweden at Wembley last week.

21:02 BST - In the Women's Euros qualifiers, Sophie Howard has just put Scotland 1-0 up against Slovakia, while England are 2-0 up against the Republic of Ireland through goals from Lauren James and Alex Greenwood.

20:50 BST - HALF-TIME: The referee's whistle brings to an end the first half of what has been a thrilling contest between Man City and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

City were 1-0 up in a flash through a free kick from Silva, but the hosts hit back with a one-two from Camavinga and Rodrygo to take the lead - and all of that happened inside the first 15 minutes of the game. Here's hoping for more of the same end-to-end action in the second half.

20:47 BST - HALF-TIME: We have reached the break in north London. It seemed like everything was going to script when Saka gave Arteta's side the lead with a clinical finish in the box, but Bayern appear to be reading off a different script as they haunted Arsenal with goals from Gnabry and Kane - two players who have plenty of history at the Emirates.

Both English sides went a goal up in their ties and both find themselves currently trailing.

20:31 BST - GOAL! Well it's certainly not a quiet night in the Champions League. Saliba brings down Sane with a clumsy challenge in the box and Bayern are awarded a penalty. No surprises as to who steps up to take it: Kane makes it 2-1 to the German side with a neat strike in the bottom right corner.

20:18 BST - GOAL! And now Bayern Munich are level! Sane gets the ball via a poor pass from Gabriel, and passed through to Goretzka who finds Gnabry. Gnabry thumps the ball between the legs of Raya to level the tie.

20:15 BST - GOAL! Would you believe it?! Real Madrid are 2-1 up after 14 minutes! Wow. This time Real score through Rodrygo, who is put into acres of space and sees off two defenders to roll the ball past Stefan Ortega.

20:13 BST - GOAL! It's raining goals in the Champions League. Real Madrid, having gone down early, have a goal back through Camavinga, whose strike from far out was not dealt with properly by Dias, and the ball ended up deflecting into the net to level things up 1-1.

20:12 BST - GOAL! Arsenal make the early breakthrough! It's a superb strike from Saka, who gets the ball in the box, swivels as it goes past him, and strokes the ball into the bottom left corner with his first touch.

20:05 BST - GOAL! Bernardo Silva has scored from a free kick! Manchester City are already 1-0 up in Madrid. You'd expect the keeper to do better from that distance, but the Premier League champions won't care.

20:00 BST - We are underway in London and Madrid! Who will be able to make their mark in the respective first leg ties?

19:36 BST - Meanwhile, Manchester United said earlier today that John Murtough will step down as Football Director after nearly 11 years at the club.

"John has mutually agreed with us that now is the right time to step aside and allow the new football leadership structure to be put in place," Manchester United co-chairman Joel Glazer said.

19:10 BST - For Bayern Munich, there is the unsprising inclusion of Harry Kane up front, and the England striker is joined in the starting XI by his former Spurs team-mate Eric Dier. Can the pair mastermind more Champions League pain for their old north London rivals?
