Godts had been the subject of negotiations between Ajax and PSG since late July. According to sources, Ajax rejected several offers from PSG, with the Amsterdam giants holding out for a €60 million transfer fee.
On Friday, an agreement was reached for a package worth €55 million for Godts, 21, who will travel to Paris 'soon' and will not take part in Sunday's Eredivisie match against SC Heerenveen, according to Fabrizio Romano and Voetbal International's Tim van Duijn.
Godts became a popular target for top European clubs after finishing the 2025/26 season as the Eredivisie MVP, despite Ajax finishing with their joint-lowest points total since 1963. The Belgian winger scored 17 goals and provided 13 assists.
The two-time Belgian international started on the bench in Ajax's first Eredivisie match of the season against PEC Zwolle. Godts and his agent confirmed afterwards that it was unrelated to the PSG negotiations and was a precaution due to some discomfort. Godts stayed on the bench during their 2-2 UEFA Conference League draw against Shelbourne on Thursday.
Godts joined Ajax from Belgian side Gent in January 2023 and made his professional debut in April of the same year. He has since played 115 games for Ajax, scoring 26 goals and providing 24 assists along the way.
