The Ashes is reaching its culmination as Australia take on England in the fifth and final test in Sydney. England regained some credibility by winning the fourth test in Melbourne by four wickets; however, much has been said about the state of the pitch since, with that being credited for the absurdly quick test match.

Now, Bazball heads to Sydney to try and save more face and make the scoreboard look a bit more respectable. Below, we give you all you need to know ahead of the last Ashes test match.

Australia Team News

Australia are set to name an unchanged team for the fifth test against England. Pat Cummins (back) and Nathan Lyon (hamstring) were always set to miss this test after missing the last, and  Steve Smith will stay in the lineup after missing the third test with vertigo.

This means Michael Neser and Jhye Richardson, who came into the squad in the last test, would also retain their spaces. Todd Murphy, who was set to take over for Lyon, will remain out.

Australia's Fourth Ashes Test predicted XI: Head, Weatherald, Labuschagne, Smith, Khawaja, Carey, Green, Neser, Starc, Boland, Richardson.

England Team News

England's Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the fifth test with a left hamstring injury picked up during the test in Melbourne. Atkinson is the third fast bowler to withdraw from the team after Mark Wood, after the first Test, and Jofra Archer, after the third.

In line to replace Atkinson are Durham's Matthew Potts or Surrey's Matthew Fisher, who previously joined the main squad.

England’s Fourth Ashes Test predicted XI: Crawley, Duckett, Bethell, Root, Brook, Stokes, Smith, Jacks, Carse, Potts, Tongue

Where to watch on TV or live stream?

In the UK, the final Ashes test will be streamed on TNT Sports. To watch, you will need a discovery+ subscription, and then you can watch the Ashes on the website, on your smart TV or through your console.

Head-to-Head record

England’s first win defeated the chance of an Australia whitewash that last happened in the 2013/14 tour. Now 3-1 because of the madness of the fourth test, England will continue to play for pride in this rubber match.

If either team win this test, then that will stop the line of one draw in each of the last four series. The last time Australia won 4-1 was in 2002/03 when it was in their home country, and the last time England lost 3-2 was back in 1997; however, there were six tests then, and one of those was a draw.

Odds for Australia vs England

Australia are favourites to win the fifth test, sitting at 4/6 at bet365. England are at 21/10, with a draw at 13/2.

Odds correct at time of writing, subject to change.
