Major League Baseball is investigating an apparent incident between Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon and a fan in which video posted on social media shows the player grabbing the spectator's shirt.

"We are aware of the video and we are now looking into the matter," MLB said in a statement.

In the video, taken as Rendon returned to the clubhouse after the Angels' Opening Day loss to the Athletics in Oakland, the player can be heard asking the fan "What did you say? ... you called me a b***h, huh?"

As the fan denies it, Randon grabs the front of his shirt through the guardrails of the raised stands.

"Yeah, you did, yeah, mother-f****r," Rendon replies before swiping his hand toward the fan's hat as he releases him and departs.

The Angels, who did not have a game on Friday, had yet to comment, but the Los Angeles Times said Rendon was expected to address the incident himself either in a statement or with reporters before Saturday's game at Oakland.

Rendon is in his 11th MLB season, but spent much of the past two campaigns on the injured list with a wrist tendon injury and hip trouble.
