The six-athlete shortlist for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year has been revealed, with two of England's Women's Euro 2025 stars making the cut.

Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton are both up for the award, which will be presented on Thursday, December 18th, for their contributions in the Lionesses' penalty shootout win over Spain in the final.

They have been nominated alongside Formula 1 driver Lando Norris, golfer Rory McIlroy, darts player Luke Littler and rugby union player Ellie Kildunne.

Newly-crowned F1 champion Norris pipped Max Verstappen and McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri to the title, which went down to the final race in Abu Dhabi.

Norris became the 11th Brion to win the drivers' championship and did so by just two points in the closest finish to a campaign for 15 years.

McIlroy finally achieved the career Grand Slam of winning all four of golf's major tournaments after a dramatic play-off at Augusta to secure the Masters title.

The Northern Irishman also scored three and a half points and battled crowd hostility from the host United States fans to help Team Europe win the Ryder Cup.

Darts sensation Luke Littler became the youngest-ever world champion aged just 17 and added the Premier League and Matchplay to his growing trophy cabinet.

He is just the fifth player to complete the PDC's Triple Crown, while he also achieved world number one status in November after winning the Grand Slam of Darts.

Red Roses star Kildunne tallied five tries as she held a key role as England triumphed on home soil to win the Women's Rugby World Cup.

She also scored four tries as England retained their Six Nations title earlier in the year.
