England manager Thomas Tuchel announced his latest squad for upcoming matches against Wales and Latvia on Friday morning, omitting star names Phil Foden and Jude Bellingham.

Bellingham's exclusion may be down to fitness, with the Real Madrid star only just returning from a shoulder injury - but Foden's comes as a surprise after a resurgence in form for Manchester City.

Also left out of the side were Crystal Palace star Adam Wharton and Everton winger Jack Grealish, despite both making strong starts to the Premier League season.

There is room for a returning Bukayo Saka, who missed the previous international break through injury.

He is joined by Bayer Leverkusen defender Jarell Quansah and AC Milan star Ruben Loftus-Cheek, while Three Lions regulars Harry Kane, John Stones, Jordan Pickford and Declan Rice are also included.

"It was only three weeks since the last camp and the last win, the last performance, so the question was why not bring the same group in because they set the standard," said Tuchel.

"Now it is about creating habits out of it. We have, unfortunately, two injuries at the moment with Tino (Livramento) and Noni (Madueke) and we bring, of course, Bukayo Saka in to replace Noni.

"Jarell Quansah was a late call-up last time; he will stay in camp."

Tuchel has also opted to keep Nottingham Forest duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson with the group, as well as Aston Villa pair Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins.

England face Wales in a friendly on October 9th before visiting Latvia on October 14th for a World Cup qualifier.
