Live updates

22:42 BST - We're going to wrap things up there, folks.

Thanks for joining us, we'll be back again for Europa League and Conference League action. Nighty night.

22:39 BST - Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was not best pleased by some of the refereeing decisions in tonight's 2-2 draw with Monaco.

"It was a very good game," Guardiola told TNT Sports.

"We created a lot of chances, but unfortunately, at the end, we defend an unfair free kick not perfectly, we concede a penalty that (the defender) touches the ball first. But it is what it is.

"I didn't see the stats, I didn't see the chances. Always, we try to create chances and concede few, but again, many things went against us in certain situations.

"We have a good point. We'll take it."

22:28 BST - Erling Haaland was understandably disappointed with City's inability to put the game to bed against Monaco tonight.

"I don't feel good - we didn't win," Haaland told TNT Sports.

"We did something unnecessarily in the second half. We didn't play good enough, we didn't deserve to win.

"We need more energy. We needed to get at them more like in the first half, they took the lead in the second half and I don't think it's good enough.

"Every Champions League game is tough. Look at last year we went out. Every game is tough, not many teams have won their first two games and that's why."

22:25 BST - Newcastle boss was pleased with striker Nick Woltemade's performance this evening.

"His potential is high," Howe told TNT Sports.

"It is an exciting start for him and he's done really, really well, and more importantly he is willing, wants to do the work and wants to improve.

"It is difficult to put a percentage on where he is right now but there is more to come physically and tactically as we go through the journey together with him.

"We will be doing a lot of physical work with him to get him robust enough for the Premier League week in, week out."

22:24 BST - Anthony Gordon showed his mettle by dispatching two penalties in Newcastle's thumping of Union SG earlier this evening.

"I've missed the winning feeling," Gordon told TNT Sports

"We've had some tough games recently, some heartbreaking moments at the end of games.

"It was good to get back to playing really good football, scoring goals and another clean sheet. Our defence hasn't been a problem so that was never in doubt, but yeah, another good one.

"We've defended really well, we've been organised, but we've lacked that sparked and that creativity, so we really wanted to put our emphasis on getting that back tonight and I thought we did."

22:22 BST - Here's a rundown of all tonight's results in the Champions League:

22:16 BST - No Arsenal player has been involved in more goals in all competitions this season than Gabriel Martinelli (three goals, one assist).

"This is Champions League," Martinelli told TNT Sports after his side's victory.

"Olympiacos are a really good side with really good players.

"We could have scored more goals in the first half, we had some chances, but that is the Champions League.

"We play for Arsenal and we want to win every single game of the season if possible and we want to win every trophy that we can."

22:02 BST - We'll have reaction for you as we get it.

21:27 BST - It's end-to-end between Barcelona and PSG, with Achraf Hakimi producing a stunning goal-line clearance to keep out Dani Olmo.

Marcus Rashford is having another good game in Barça colours, too. However, it's still all square.

21:25 BST - Monaco are trying to force their way back into the game and they're enjoying a decent spell, but it's still City holding firm with their 2-1 lead as it stands.

21:04 BST - We're up and running again. Which teams have got the minerals?

20:49 BST - HALF-TIME! Arsenal have been unable to add to their 1-0 lead but they look good for it so far, while Manchester City have regained control away to Monaco.

Those games kick off at 20:00 and we'll be keeping tabs on all the key updates as they happen.

Tuesday, September 30th

22:55 BST - We're wrapping up for tonight. Thanks for joining us, and we'll be back here again tomorrow for more Champions League shenanigans.

22:53 BST - Tottenham boss Thomas Frank was pleased to see his players refusing to give up, despite going 2-0 down.

"I felt first that the mentality and the character of the players was very good," Frank told TNT Sports.

"We stayed in the game, kept fighting, and that gave us a very good point, away from home, when you're 2-0 down in a Champions League game, and especially against a Bodo/Glimt team that are very good here. So we have to be happy with that.

"Again, we got back into that game, and I think that is very positive.

"I think it's fair to say, especially in the first half, Bodo were better than us. We know they're exceptionally good at what they're doing. Very well coached.

"We struggled a bit defensively under their high pressure. We should've been braver on the ball. But after 2-0, we got into the game and I think we were the better team in the last parts."

22:38 BST - Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca enjoyed his side's work ethic against Benfica.

"The effort was very good," he told TNT Sports.

"First half, I think we were better compared to the second half in the way we managed the ball and created chances. In the second half, we dropped.

"In the last two or three games, we have conceded two or three goals, and it's not possible to do that.

"We need to be better defensively, but a clean sheet is nice."

22:34 BST - Liverpool manager Arne Slot was adamant he's not hitting the panic button just yet after a second loss in the space of four days.

"This is sometimes what the schedule can bring," Slot told Amazon Prime.

"Galatasaray is not a simple game. We now play Chelsea away, a difficult game.

"The margins are small and they were last season. For the second time in a row, we are on the wrong side.

"I saw a lot of things in the first half, but the second half was much less. I don't think in the second half there was a lot of playing time, their striker was on the floor four or five times. It was difficult to get momentum in the game.

On Alisson's injury: "It's never positive if you go off like this. You can be sure he is not playing Saturday."

22:31 BST - New Benfica boss Jose Mourinho admitted he hasn't had much time to get into his players just yet.

"We played four matches with two days in between," Mourinho told TNT Sports.

"I never trained, I just recovered in between and one of my strengths is on the pitch, training. You don't have time for that.

"When a team changes coach mid-season, it's because things are not good. So we've had some difficulties and also a period of big pressure for the players with the election period at the club. It's almost a political campaign, and the players can't escape that.

"Coming to the match today, a defeat is always a defeat, but there are defeats and defeats. This one is one that can be a start for them; it was a stable performance. We could've come away from here with a draw, and it would've been positive."

22:21 BST - A tough night for Arne Slot and Liverpool, who have now lost back-to-back games having gone unbeaten in their first seven this season.

They also have just two clean sheets in their last 15 games in all competitions.

22:14 BST - Pedro Neto was pleased with Chelsea's work ethic in their win against Benfica:

"We knew the difficulties we had in the first game, and we tried to work hard to manage those difficulties," Neto told TNT Sports.

"Today was the resilience of the team that came through.

"I think we had a very good game. We could have controlled it a bit more with the quality of what we had, but in the end, we have the three points.

"It's a tough team to face at home. We knew we needed to work hard, and we did well."

22:08 BST - Reaction coming up as soon as we get it!

In the meantime, here's a rundown of all the results from tonight's matches:

21:49 BST - GOAL! Spurs have an equaliser through the scrappiest goal you'll ever see from Richarlison, who doesn't know much about the ricochet before it ends up in the back of the net.

Bayern have five at Pafos, while Atletico have four against Frankfurt and Marseille have scored four against Ajax.

Inter have also nabbed three against Slavia Prague.

21:40 BST - Liverpool have had about 65 per cent of possession in Turkey, but the hosts aren't letting them create much. Can the Reds find a way through a steely Galatasaray defence?

21:32 BST - Bodo/Glimt's Jens Petter Hauge is only the second Norwegian player to score a brace against an English side in the UEFA Champions League, after John Carew for Valencia against Arsenal in March 2003.

21:25 BST - GOAL! Bodo/Glimt have a second, and it's Jens Hauge again, who uses quick feet before unleashing an unstoppable shot past Vicario in the Spurs goal. It's 2-0.

21:12 BST - GOAL! Spurs respond immediately after a set piece eventually falls to the feet of Rodrigo Bentancur, who scuffs the ball home.

20:35 BST - PENALTY MISSED! Rodrigo Bentancur is late and rash with his challenge, and it's an obvious penalty.

However, Kasper Hogh smashes the ball over the bar, so it remains 0-0.

20:33 BST - PENALTY TO BODO/GLIMT!

20:27 BST - Spurs are facing a whole lot of pressure against the yellow shirts of Bodo/Glimt, but it's still goalless in Norway.

20:24 BST - Bayern Munich are already 2-0 up away at Pafos, with Harry Kane bagging his 16th goal in just nine games for their opener.

It's his third goal in the Champions League this season. He has now scored in his last three games in the competition (four goals in total), his longest streak since a run of four games from November 22, 2016, to September 26, 2017.

20:19 BST - GOAL! Chelsea have the lead against Benfica after an own goal by Richard Rios, who deflects a ball in from Alejandro Garnacho.

20:14 BST - Brennan Johnson is the first Welshman to start a UEFA Champions League match since March 2023, with that instance also being a Tottenham Hotspur player (Ben Davies v Milan).

20:09 BST - A couple of early goals elsewhere as Giacomo Raspadori puts Atletico ahead against Frankfurt, while Marseille are leading Ajax through Igor Paixao.

20:04 BST - Virgil van Dijk is playing his 54th UEFA Champions League game for Liverpool, one more than Sami Hyypiä (53). The only central defender to play more games in the competition for the Reds is Jamie Carragher (80).
