Dirk van Duijvenbode reeled off five consecutive legs against Ryan Searle en route to winning the Players Championship 6 final in Barnsley.

The Dutchman was victorious with an 8-4 win at the Barnsley Metrodome to notch a fifth career PDC and second ProTour title.

Van Duijvenbode was relentless throughout the event on Sunday, dropping just three legs in his first three matches of the day.

The world number 11 claimed 6-1 wins against Kevin Burness, Ronny Huybrechts and Cameron Crabtree in the first three rounds respectively, before whitewashing Ian White in the last 16.

He then earned a big victory against compatriot and world number three Michael van Gerwen before edging out Luke Humphries in the semi-finals in a 7-6 thriller.

For Searle, he claimed wins against the Players Championship 5 runner-up Gary Anderson, Dave Chisnall and Mike de Decker before falling at the final hurdle.
