Luke Littler got his World Championship campaign underway at Alexandra Palace by beating Ryan Meikle 3-1 on Saturday night.
'The Nuke' got off to a slightly wobbly start but was able to recover to take the first set.
Meikle would then carry some momentum into the second to confidently draw level.
But then Littler took charge, taking the third set in expert fashion to lead 2-1.
The 17-year-old prodigy then stormed through the final set without dropping a leg to claim victory with an average of 141.
An emotional Littler spoke to Sky Sports after his win, but was unable to say more than "I started off slowly" before cameras cut away to show supporters cheering loudly for the teenager.
'The Nuke' will face either Ritchie Edhouse or Ian White in the next round.
