He could be facing Barney in the next round... but it won't be until after Christmas Day.

Tricole fell 1-0 down before winning three legs on the bounce to overcome the Australian 3-1 in an error-strewn match.

The Frenchman, ranked 79 in the world, hit an average of 80.61 and narrowly avoided a huge scare against Comito, who was on the verge of staging an unlikely comeback.

19:00 GMT - We're 10 minutes away from the first match of the 2025 PDC World Championship, with France's Thibault Tricole taking on Joe Comito of Australia. The winner will face last year's champion Luke Humphries in the final match of the night.
