2026 Players Championship 10: Everything you need to know

The Players Championship heads to Wigan this week for Players Championship 9-10. Monday is the first day of action with the Players Championship 10 on Tuesday.

The backbone of the PDC calendar, the Players Championship circuit, heads to the north of England this week as Players Championship 10 takes place in Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan.

Players Championship 10 is the second day of action from Wigan, with Players Championship 9 on Monday. The same players will be playing over the two days so it will be interesting to see who comes out on top after the tournament on Monday.

Who’s competing at Players Championship 10?

128 players are taking part in the tournament, which sees many big names take part. PDC World No.1 Luke Littler will not be involved; however, the world No.2 Luke Humphries will be. He is joined by his Premier League of Darts competitors, Gerwyn Price, Jonny Clayton, Josh Rock and Stephen Bunting.

Current No.1 in the 2026 Players Championship rankings is Wessel Nijman, who will be competing, alongside other huge names in Peter Wright, Michael Smith and Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall, Scott Williams, Ricky Evans, Joe Cullen, Beau Greaves, Chris Dobey and Damon Heta.

Two Premier League of Darts players won’t be taking part in Michael van Gerwen and Gian van Veen, whilst other notable absentees are Gary Anderson and Ryan Searle, who won Players Championship 7.

What is the format? 

Games start as a best of 11 match before gradually increasing to best of 13 for the semi-finals and best of 15 for the final.

Ranking Impact

Each Players Championship event has a £15,000 top prize. Nijman heads the table with winnings of £48,000, followed by Dobey in second with £37,500 and Price in third with £32,750.

Depending on what happens at the Players Championship 9, we could see all change at the top of the leaderboard.
