Sweden's Armand "Mondo" Duplantis will again be on the shortlist for Sportsman of the Year at the 2025 Laureus World Sports Awards.

Fresh from yet again breaking his own world record, setting a new best height of 6.27m in Clermont-Ferrand on Friday, he was nominated for the top male prize for the fourth time.

Duplantis was shortlisted alongside Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, French swimmer Leon Marchand, cyclist Tadej Pogacar of Slovenia, and Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen from the Netherlands.

The 25-year-old was previously nominated in 2021, 2023 and 2024 for the prestigious award, losing out to Rafael Nadal, Lionel Messi and Novak Djokovic, respectively.

The consistent improvements to his own world record, plus defending his title at the 2024 Paris Olympics, have crontributed to his nomination for this year's awards.

The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony in Madrid on April 21st 2025.
