The FIFA Best awards were handed out on Tuesday in Doha, Qatar, honouring the top players from the men's and women's games, with Ousmane Dembele and Aitana Bonmati named the players of 2025.

Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal were the other finalists for the award given to the men's player of the year, but Ballon d'Or winner Dembele took it home.

That came as little surprise, with the Frenchman PSG's star man in their quadruple-winning 2024/25 campaign, leading them to Ligue 1 and Champions League glory.

While he hasn't had the best start to the current season, largely due to fitness issues, the role he played in his club's triumphs in the first half of the year was enough for him to add another trophy to his cabinet.

The top women's prize also went to the Ballon d'Or holder, with Barcelona and Spain star Bonmati winning it.
