With progression already assured, Hossam Hassan has hinted at rotating his squad for the final Group B clash against Angola. That could hand the Palancas Negras a rare opportunity, as they head into this encounter knowing only a win will realistically keep their tournament hopes alive.
While Egypt are the most successful nation in AFCON history, their cautious, low-margin approach so far suggests another tight contest could be on the cards against an Angola side expected to throw everything forward.

Draw or Egypt (Double Chance)
Even with rotation expected, Egypt remain exceptionally difficult to beat at AFCON, and backing them to avoid defeat looks the safest play. The Pharaohs are unbeaten in all seven previous meetings with Angola (W4, D3), including two AFCON wins by identical 2-1 scorelines.
Angola’s recent form offers little encouragement, having won just two of their last ten competitive matches (D4, L4), while they failed to capitalise on a golden opportunity to boost their qualification hopes after drawing 1-1 with Zimbabwe. Egypt, meanwhile, have shown their resilience by grinding out narrow victories, with each of their last four wins inside 90 minutes coming by a single-goal margin.
Even if Hassan rings the changes, Egypt’s structure, experience and tournament nous should be enough to avoid defeat against an Angola side under heavy pressure.
Tip: Draw or Egypt (Double Chance) @ 2/5
Bet explanation: This bet wins if Egypt avoids defeat against Angola.
Omar Marmoush to have 2+ shots
With squad rotation likely, Omar Marmoush is expected to play a more prominent role, especially after being withdrawn at half-time against South Africa. That substitution should leave him fresher than most, and he remains one of Egypt’s most aggressive attackers.
Marmoush attempted eight shots in Egypt’s opening group game against Zimbabwe, while he is also involved in set-piece situations. His recent international form is encouraging too, having scored in three of his last four starts for Egypt, and if given extended minutes here, he should again be among the most active shooters.
Against an Angola side likely to leave space as they chase victory, Marmoush registering at least two shot attempts looks highly probable.
Tip: Omar Marmoush to play 2+ shots @7/25
Bet explanation: This bet wins if Omar Marmoush makes at least two shots against Angola.
Under 3.5 goals
Egypt’s last 16 matches have all finished under 3.5 goals, with their pragmatic approach seeing them prioritise control and defensive solidity over attacking flair.
Angola may be forced to attack, but their record when losing is telling, having failed to score in 16 of their last 18 defeats. Although six of Angola’s last eight games saw both teams score, Egypt’s discipline and experience usually suppress open contests, particularly in group-stage finales.
With Egypt content to manage the game and Angola unlikely to overwhelm one of Africa’s most organised defences, a goal-fest appears very unlikely.
Bet explanation: This bet wins if there are less than four goals scored in the game between Angola and Egypt.
