The 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) kicks off on Sunday with hosts Morocco taking on Comoros in the competition’s opener. Morocco to get in front and stay there
The Atlas Lions will be looking to assert their dominance from the get-go. They are ranked 11th in the FIFA World Rankings, the highest-ranked African team, and they will want to get started well in front of their home fans. The two teams have met recently in the Arab Cup on 12 December; Morocco won that 3-1. They went ahead after five minutes and scored the other two before the break. With stronger players now having joined the team, Morocco are set to be an even stronger force and will be leading the match at the end of the first half and at full-time.
