The hosts took the lead inside just 10 minutes when Couhaib Driouech squared for Guus Til to tap his 12th goal this season into an empty net after Jan Oblak rushed out of his goal.
The same two players then combined for a big chance moments later, as Til fed Driouech this time only for him to poke wide in a promising position. With that missed chance perhaps playing on his mind, Driouech also decided to pass instead of shoot in a similar area when the goal was gaping.
His poor decision would ultimately be punished as Atlético levelled before HT. Alexander Sørloth capitalised on some lacklustre defending by Yarek Gasiorowski to square for Julián Alvarez to tap home - the Argentine has now scored in four of Atlético’s last five UCL games.

It also means that each of PSV’s last 12 UCL fixtures have now seen both teams score.
That goal seemingly shocked the Dutch side as Atlético turned the tie around early in the second half. Matěj Kovář could only parry a long-range strike into Dávid Hancko’s path, and the ex-Feyenoord centre-back produced a neat finish into the bottom corner.
Two then quickly became three for the visitors when Sørloth got in on the act, heading home Pablo Barrios’ precise cross.
PSV pushed to get back into the game in the latter stages, and did pull one back as Ricardo Pepi poked a corner home at the back post.
Armando Obispo should have also equalised from point-blank range in stoppage time, but somehow skewed his effort off target as Atlético stretched their unbeaten run against PSV to seven H2Hs, breaking into the top eight of the table with victory.
