Four UEFA Champions League teams will be reduced to just two hopefuls this midweek. The semi-final second legs are played to a conclusion on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Following the exciting first legs in Paris and Madrid, fans hope for more of the same. Only the strongest will survive, but which clubs will progress to the 2026 final in Budapest?

PSG and Bayern Munich served up a jaw-dropping nine-goal thriller just over a week ago. The defending champions won that match courtesy of a 5-4 scoreline.

It was exhausting for both teams and their fans, but there's plenty more to come in the renewal. Will the clubs pick up where they left off? We'll find out 24 hours after Arsenal host Atletico Madrid.

With the Champions League semi-finals perfectly balanced, it's anyone's guess which names will contest the final.

Arsenal v Atletico Madrid, Tuesday, 20:00 BST

Similar to their Premier League title challenge, the Gunners started their Champions League campaign like a runaway train.

They hit the front early and stayed there, winning each of their first eight games, ending as the highest scorers with the best defence. However, Mikel Arteta's dreamers have looked a little less convincing in recent weeks.

Arsenal thumped Leverkusen 3-1 in the Last 16 and Sporting 1-0 in the quarters. They now enter Tuesday level with opponents Atletico Madrid following last week's controversial match in Spain.

Gyokeres opened the scoring from the penalty spot approaching half-time. Alvarez returned the favour for Madrid, before VAR overturned what would've been a third penalty.

Missed opportunity for Madrid

Atletico Madrid didn't start as one of the Champions League betting favourites back in the summer, but they're still going strong. Diego Simeone's men finished 14th in the first phase of play.

That nudged them into the playoffs, where they beat Club Brugge 7-4 on aggregate. The Mattress Makers then downed Spurs 7-5, before edging Barcelona 3-2 in the quarters.

Atletico Madrid appreciate they missed a golden opportunity when failing to make home advantage count. Their best chance of reaching the final came from taking a lead to London.

Alvarez's strike early in the second half kept them in the tie, but it should've been more. They enjoyed 51.5 per cent possession and 18 shots, but managed just four on target. Will they be made to regret not being sharper in the final third?

Bet on goals

There's all to play for on Tuesday evening in London, with both Arteta and Simeone knowing a win takes them through to the Champions League final.

I'm expecting another tense and nervous evening, with lots of drama and a few more goals. The stats from last week show these rivals had a combined 29 shots at goal, but scored only two penalties.

Arsenal enter with a point to prove. They'll feel they deserved victory in Spain and were amazed to see a second-half penalty awarded by the referee, and then removed by the same man following a pitchside review.

With both teams scoring last time, I'm happy to stick with that, backing both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid to find the net at 19/20 with bet365.

Looking for a bet at greater odds to mark such a high-profile match? I thought Arsenal should've had a penalty last time. It was on the soft side, of course, but it was a clumsy tackle in a dangerous area.

Madrid got away with one there, but Arsenal haven't put a foot wrong in this season's UCL. Take BTTS in a home win at 13/5, available on the bet365 app.

Tip: Arsenal win and both teams to score @ 13/5 (bet365)

Bet explanation: To win this bet and land a healthy profit, you need Arsenal to beat Atletico Madrid without the need for extra time, but the Spaniards must score at least one goal.

Bayern Munich v PSG, Wednesday, 20:00 BST

Bayern Munich v PSG
Bayern Munich v PSGFlashscore

We have everything crossed that Wednesday's return is as entertaining as the first leg. Bayern Munich went to Paris and opted to fight fire with fire.

The German Bundesliga giants may have lost the match, but they pushed the reigning champions hard, scoring four goals, and will believe they're good enough to go one better at the Allianz Arena.

Bayern Munich finished second in the Champions League, losing only to Arsenal. They put 10 goals past Atalanta in the Last 16, scored another six against Real Madrid in the quarter finals, and then another four in that memorable match at the Parc des Princes.

Munich know they must improve defensively, but I expect a few more goals on Wednesday evening.

PSG hold a narrow lead

Current European champions PSG are potentially 90 minutes away from a second final in two years. Will the Parisians make it two in a row? They certainly have a strong chance.

PSG didn't exactly set the heather alight in the league phase, finishing 11th after failing to win half of their eight starts. Luis Enrique's stars went through the gears in the knockout rounds.

PSG scored five goals against Monaco in the playoffs, but conceded four. They banged in eight goals against a Chelsea side in crisis, and another four when matched with Liverpool over two legs in the quarter-finals.

It's fair to assume that Enrique is happy for his team to rely on their firepower and try to score one more than their opponents. It's a risky plan indeed.

More of the same in Munich

Anything can happen in this fixture, and that's why it's so exciting and will attract a global audience. I must admit that I didn't see a nine-goal first leg coming.

I knew from my research that both PSG and Bayern Munich were strong in attack, but I expected better of both clubs defensively. If they go toe-to-toe again on Wednesday, football fans will be the real winners.

PSG scored 11 goals and conceded 10 in the group stage. Bayern Munich ended with 22 for and eight against. In the knockout rounds, PSG netted a sensational 22 goals in four rounds, conceding 10 goals.

Bayern Munich bypassed the playoffs, but did score 20 goals against Atalanta, Real Madrid, and PSG. The French champs conceded 11 goals during that period.

The numbers push us towards a bet on both teams to score. That wager landed in the first leg. It was also a smart play when PSG visited Monaco, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

Both teams scored when Munich entertained Atalanta and Real Madrid. If you're after more, I'd trust Munich on German soil to win the match. Back both teams to score in a win for Bayern Munich.

Tip: Bayern Munich win and both teams to score @ 13/10 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You want to see Bayern Munich win the match, and PSG score at least once at the Allianz Arena.
