Chelsea welcome PSG to Stamford Bridge in the UCL, a week after five were put past them in the Parc de Princes.

Whilst Chelsea did manage to score two against PSG, they will be disappointed with the way the game got away from them, with a mistake from Filip Jörgensen allowing Vitinha to score and PSG to retake the lead.

Whilst it will be hard to turn around the three goal defecit, Chelsea will feel that home advantage could create a magical UCL night for the Blues.

PSG will feel as if they have one foot in the next round, however none of the players will take for granted Chelsea’s quality, knowing that mistakes could bring unwanted pressure.

Having had a weekend off to prepare for this game, the players will be fresh and fully prepared for the task at hand.

Chelsea team news

Chelsea may have lost to Newcastle at home in a terrible warm-up to this tie, but they managed to get out unscathed at least. They have no new injuries, so they remain without Levi Colwill and Estevao on Tuesday.

Alejandro Garnacho started instead of Pedro Neto against Newcastle because Neto was suspended, and you expect the Portuguese winger to retake his place in the team for the PSG game.

The real question is about who will start in goal between Robert Sanchez and Filip Jörgensen, with Sanchez playing on the weekend because Jörgensen had a groin injury. Neither keeper has covered themselves in any glory in recent weeks, but Sanchez did make some good saves in his last game, and thus may retain his place in the team.

Chelsea predicted lineup v PSG, (4-2-3-1)

Coach: Liam Rosenior

Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Cucurella; Caicedo, James; Palmer, Fernandez, Neto; Joao Pedro.

PSG team news

PSG were granted permission by Ligue 1 to postpone their scheduled match against Nantes last weekend so they could get some extra rest ahead of their trip to West London. Therefore, the team have no new injury worries but remains without key midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored two after coming off the bench last week, so he is in a prime position to start. He’ll likely be joined by Ousmane Dembélé, who is one player who has enjoyed his trips to England recently. In the UCL last season, the Ballon d’Or winner scored in knockout games away to both Arsenal and Liverpool.

PSG predicted lineup v Chelsea, (4-3-3)

Coach: Luis Enrique

Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Neves; Kvaratskhelia, Dembele, Barcola.

Where to watch on TV or live stream?

Head-to-head record

Chelsea are winless in their last five UCL games against PSG (D2, L3); their joint-longest winless run against an opponent in the competition, whilst PSG are unbeaten in their last five games against English teams in the UCL.

After losing on the weekend to Newcastle, Chelsea have lost three times in their last five games, whereas PSG have only lost once in their last five. While the writing may seem on the wall for the Blues, one team in UCL history has come back to eliminate the holders in the knockout stages after losing the first leg by as many as three goals - Deportivo de La Coruña versus Milan in the 2003-04 quarter-finals. So there’s hope.

Odds for Chelsea v PSG
