Borussia Dortmund’s leading supporter groups have announced they will boycott their club’s Champions League meeting with FC Copenhagen in protest at what they describe as unreasonable ticketing conditions.
The Unity and Desperados, two of Dortmund’s most influential ultra groups, said they would not travel to Parken Stadium for the match on 21 October.
The decision echoes a similar action in 2022, when the groups refused to attend a European fixture against the Danish side after tickets were made non-transferable and required ID checks at the turnstiles.
That policy remains in place for this season’s encounter, prompting the renewed boycott.
“As with the last meeting in November 2022, this match will unfortunately be under restrictions that include personalisation of tickets and a deviation from the club’s own ticket allocation for international away matches,” the groups said in a joint statement.
“With that in mind, we have decided not to participate in the match on 21 October.”
The Unity, regarded as Dortmund’s most prominent ultras group, has long-standing ties with Brondby IF’s support, traditional rivals of Copenhagen, adding further context to the tension surrounding the fixture.
