Father and son duo Alfie and Erling Haaland have lent their support to a new street football initiative in Bodo, Norway, ahead of Manchester City's Champions League clash with Bodo/Glimt.

The Haalands - both of whom developed their football in Norway before moving on to Europe's top divisions - will link up with grassroots football initiative Street Team.

A special fixture will take place in Bodo before the Champions League clash, with a Street Team from Erling Haaland's boyhood club Bryne taking on Bodo/Glimt's own Street Team side.

'Street Teams' are community-based football programmes that support individuals who would otherwise face barriers to participating in sports, using football to allow for inclusion and social connection.

Bryne's side is managed by one of Erling Haaland's former youth coaches, and both he and Alfie have funded the team's travel and accommodation ahead of the event.

"We see the Street Teams as a fantastic initiative from the football family, one that genuinely makes a difference in people's lives," Erling said.

His father added, "If our contribution helps create more attention around the Street Teams and the work being done, that's great."
