20:26 BST - GOAL! Spurs are now level with Frankfurt! Pedro Porro with a fine finish, 1-1.

20:25 BST - GOAL! Lyon ahead against Man Utd! Thiago Almada, 1-0.

It's a tough way back for for Man Utd: Lyon have a record of W5, D1, L0 when scoring the opening goal in the Europa League this season.

20:13 BST - RED CARD! Rangers are down to ten men as Robin Propper is given his marching orders with just 13 minutes on the clock. That's the Gers first red card in major European competition since James Sands was sent off against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League in September 2022.

20:06 BST - GOAL! That's not the start Tottenham fans would've wanted, it's 1-0 to Frankfurt in north London. Hugo Ekitike. It's the second earliest goal that Spurs have ever conceded at home in the Europa League (5:10), after vs PAOK Salonika in November 2011 (5:08).

18:56 BST - It may come as no surprise, but Chelsea have a record of W8, D0, L0 when scoring the opening goal in the Europa Conference League this season.

18:52 BST - GOAL! Chelsea have broken the deadlock! Tyrique George on the rebound, 1-0. That's a first senior goal for the young lad.

18:24 BST - Nothing major to report from Poland yet, but Chelsea are now getting a bit more joy. It does feel as if they could sneak an opener before the break. Still 0-0.

18:07 BST - 20 minutes in and it would be fair to say Chelsea aren't running away with it in Warsaw. In fact, the home team have had a couple of cracks at goal themselves. The Blues are dominating the ball, however.

22:52 BST - That's it for this evening, thanks for joining us!

Make sure to come back tomorrow as we keep you up to date with all the Europa League action as Manchester United face Lyon, Rangers play Athletic Bilbao, and Tottenham host Frankfurt.

There's also the Conference League, where Chelsea travel to Legia hoping to continue their journey in the competition in a bid to win some silverware.

See you tomorrow!

22:31 BST -  Goalscorer Morgan Rogers says PSG "put the world on notice" with their impressive performance, but believes Aston Villa are still capable of fighting back in their quarter-final tie.

"I think they've put the world on notice to how good they are," he said.

"We've got enough quality in the (dressing) room to cause any team in the world problems... We've definitely got the quality to turn this around, so it's not done yet."

22:25 BST - If Villa are to overturn this deficit they will need to address their defence on one side in particular - all three of PSG's goals came from the left side.

22:22 BST - Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski lauded his team-mates after their 4-0 victory over Dortmund, and says the Spanish giants have "a lot of great potential".

"I think we played very well but we have one more game to go," he said. "Four goals at home... We always want to play our football and we want to play it there and we will win.

"That's always our objective. We're very happy, we played very well in the second half and scored four goals.

"Me, Lamine (Yamal) or Rapha (Raphinha), we score for the club. We always want to play together. We have a lot of great potential in this team."

22:17 BST - Speaking in the TNT studio in Paris, Rio Ferdinand says he has PSG as favourites to go on and win the Champions League this season.

22:12 BST - Opta has been crunching the numbers on which sides could go all the way to the final. Do you agree with their predictions below?

21:52 BST - FULL-TIME: There's the final whistle in Paris. Aston Villa were so close to limiting the damage but just could not hold out. They ultimately have to oveturn a 3-1 deficit if they are to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League. Click here for our report.

21:51 BST - GOAL! Heartbreak for Aston Villa as they concede a third goal with the finish line in sight. Nuno Mendes is the man to put the finishing touches on PSG's win.

21:50 BST - There will be three minutes of added time in Paris.

21:40 BST - Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has been getting plenty of attention from the PSG fans, and he seems to be enjoying it! Here's some context on why they're unhappy with the Argentine.

21:34 BST - GOAL! Lamine Yamal gets in on the action and Barcelona now lead Dortmund 4-0. You'd have to say that tie is now over as a contest.

Barcelona have scored eight goals in the last 15 minutes of the second half, only Real Madrid (nine) and Borussia Dortmund (nine) have scored more in the Champions League this season.

21:32 BST - Just as they did in the first half, Aston Villa have weathered the storm and have largely kept the noisy Parisian crowd disinterested in the last few minutes. Aside from the Achraf Hakimi effort, Unai Emery will be pretty happy with the way his side are staying in this game.

21:30 BST - OFFSIDE: Achraf Hakimi has beaten Emi Martinez to put the ball in the back of the net, but the linesman has his flag up. A relief for Aston Villa.

21:24 BST - GOAL! Dortmund are in danger of having this quarter-final slip away from them. Robert Lewandowski has his second goal of the night, making it 3-0 to Barcelona.

Lewandowski is the first ever player to score 10+ goals in a single Champions League campaign for three different teams (Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich and Barcelona). He also now has 29 goals against Borussia Dortmund in 28 matches across all competitions, which three more than he has scored against any other club in his career.

21:21 BST - There's at least two nervous onlookers in the stands...

21:18 BST - PSG have Aston Villa on the ropes here. The visitors are constantly scrambling back in defence. If they were offered the final whistle now, they would take it. They have to make sure their good start to this game doesn't go to waste.

21:08 BST - GOAL! PSG are ahead! It's a superb solo effort from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who turns his man inside out before smashing the ball into the top near corner to send the Parisian crowd wild. PSG 2-1 Aston Villa.

That's only Kvaratskhelia's second Champions League goal this season, but what a time to score it.

21:05 BST - GOAL! Barcelona have doubled their lead as Robert Lewandowski scores with a header from close range. Lewandowski has now scored his 10th goal in the Champions League this season, netting for the first time since against Benfica on 21 January. Barcelona 2-0 Borussia Dortmund.

21:04 BST - The second half has kicked off in Paris. Can Aston Villa stay in this one?

21:03 BST - We are back underway in Barcelona.

20:54 BST - Here's how Morgan Rogers' goal came about...

20:48 BST - HALF-TIME: The referee has blown his whistle in Paris and we are locked at one apiece between PSG and Aston Villa. Unai Emery's side took an unexpected lead through Morgan Rogers, but PSG levelled courtesy of a brilliant strike from youngster Desire Doue. Oddly, Villa are only just hanging on in this game and yet in a way they'll be pleased as they aren't behind. Stay with us for what promises to be a hugely exciting second half.

Incidentally, the only current teenager to score more goals for a big five European league side in all competitions this season than Doue (12) is Lamine Yamal (13), who is currently causing problems in tonight's other game. The next generation is certainly starting to announce themselves.

20:46 BST - PSG are back to their energetic best after that goal. They are peppering their opponents' goal. Villa need half-time to come quickly.

20:44 BST - Meanwhile, Raphinha's goal has made him the top scorer in this season's Champions League. He has scored in each of his last three appearances in the competition.

20:40 BST - GOAL! PSG are level already and the goal is a sensational one. Desire Doue beats Morgan Rogers at the edge of the box and puts his laces through it to beat a despairing Aston Villa keeper with an effort in the top right corner. What a goal.

That was Doue's third goal in the Champions League this season, and his 12th of the season so far.

20:39 BST - Aston Villa fans will be pleased to hear that their team has a record of W7, D0, L0 when scoring the opening goal. PSG, on the other hands, have a record of W1, D1, L3 when conceding the opening goal of this season's Champions League.

20:35 BST - GOAL! Aston Villa have the lead! John McGinn deserves a lot of credit for winning the ball in midfield, and he delivers it to Marcus Rashford.

Rashford gives it to Youri Tielemans who fires the ball across goal and Morgan Rogers is the man who gets on the end of it at the back post for a tap in. Sensational goal which is celebrated in a big way by Prince William in the stands.

20:29 BST - Martinez has continued his cheeky efforts to get under the skin of the French fans.

20:26 BST - GOAL! Barcelona have taken the lead against Dortmund, and it's Raphinha who has opened the scoring for the home side. Barcelona 1-0 Borussia Dortmund.

A little stat from Opta: Barcelona have scored 15 first-half goals in 11 games - no team has scored more in this season's Champions League - and have scored in 17 CL games in a row.

20:24 BST - And just like that, PSG are within a whisker of scoring, as Vitinha curls his effort just over the top right corner. He's looked the most dangerous in front of goal for PSG so far tonight.

20:23 BST - Well PSG are the better side at the moment, and their fans are doing their part to make it a cauldron out there, but the positives for Aston Villa is that it's still 0-0, and the longer they hold out, the more confidence they will get.

20:11 BST - Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal is giving Dortmund early warning signs of what will happen if they don't shut him down tonight.

All in all, Barcelona have registered four shots so far this evening, their most in the opening 10 minutes of a Champions League match this season.

20:06 BST - Vitinha shoots from the edge of the box to give Martinez a chance to make his first save of the night. Not an easy one but he wouldn't have been happy to have been beaten from there.

20:00 BST - We have kicked off in Paris and Barcelona - who will gain the advantage in these first ties?

19:58 BST - The teams are out on the pitch in Paris and are welcomed by a crowd in full voice.

19:47 BST - Here we go then, kick-off is a little over ten minutes away!

19:32 BST - Unsurprisingly, there is plenty of good support for Dortmund in Barcelona.

19:20 BST - It seems there is good reason for having Marcus Rashford up front: the forward has scored in each of his last three Champions League appearances against PSG, with only Neymar netting in four successive games against them in the competition.

19:11 BST - There's plenty of excitement in the Aston Villa camp for tonight's big game in Paris.

18:59 BST - Meanwhile, here's how things will look when Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, with Carney Chukwuemeka getting the nod to start for the Bundesliga side.

His selection makes him the first English player to make his first Champions League start in the quarter-finals or at a later stage since Ryan Bertrand in the 2012 final for Chelsea.

18:15 BST - Good evening and welcome along for another exciting night of Champions League action.

Aston Villa will take on PSG in Paris, while in Spain, Barcelona host Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga. Both games kick off at 20:00 BST.

Unai Emery's side will be hoping they can emulate the heroics of their Premier League rivals Arsenal, and make waves by taking down one of the Europe's traditional heavy hitters.

Tuesday, 8 April

23:02 BST - Join us again tomorrow for more Champions League quarter-final action. Goodnight!

23:00 BST - Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti isn't ready to give up the fight just yet.

"The result means that Arsenal were much better than us - the game was a bit different," Ancelotti told Amazon Prime.

"For 60 minutes the game was level, and then they shoot two fantastic free-kicks. The game, it changes. Now it will be very difficult in the second leg. But we have to try.

"The reaction, mentally, we went down. We had a problem in the final 30 minutes of the game."

22:58 BST - Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was a very happy bunny after his side's victory tonight, as you might expect.

"We have the opportunity to make a lot of people proud and we certainly have done that," Arteta told Amazon Prime.

"I've never seen the stadium like this. Before the game, they were already singing and already playing the game. For big European nights, you need the big stadiums that create atmosphere, and you need individual magic moments, and there you go.

"That's the beauty of whoever invented this sport. We hadn't scored a free kick since September 2021. And tonight, against Real Madrid at home in the Champions League, we scored two in 13 minutes."

22:22 BST - After his stunning brace, Declan Rice said in his post-match interview that he has "always had that in the locker".

"It's been in the locker, but I've hit the wall too many times or it's gone over the bar," Rice told Amazon Prime.

"Originally, we were going to cross it, and then I've just seen the wall and the goalkeeper's position. So I thought, just go for it.

"The second one I had the confidence. I hit it. It's not going to hit me now because there's another leg to go.

"I'm excited, I'm happy, I'm over the moon. But in a few years time this will really hit me that what I've done tonight was really special."

22:18 BST - Arsenal's victory tonight means that fifth placed in the Premier League will qualify for next season's Champions League.

21:54 BST - In the dying embers, Eduardo Camavinga kicks the ball away to receive a second yellow, leaving Real to finish with 10 men with seconds remaining.

21:49 BST - GOAL! A quickfire exchange of goals at the Allianz Arena as Thomas Muller pulls Bayern Munich level, only for Inter to retake the lead a few minutes later after a devastating counterattack is finished off by Davide Frattesi.

It's 2-1 there with a couple of minutes to go.

21:35 BST - GOAL! What on Earth is going on? Mikel Merino latches on to the ball inside the box to curl the ball past a shell-shocked Courtois.

Real Madrid are crumbling and Arsenal are in dreamland at 3-0.

21:30 BST - GOAL! Declan Rice, take a bow.

Another dead ball situation on the edge of the box ends up curled sublimely into the top bins. It's 2-0, what a pair of free kicks from Rice.

21:18 BST - GOAL! The Emirates erupts as Declan Rice thunders a free-kick from some 30 yards out past a helpless Courtois in the Real Madrid goal.

It's a cracker of a goal to make it 1-0 to Arsenal.

21:03 BST - We're back underway for the second halves.

20:39 BST - GOAL! Inter take the lead away at Bayern Munich through Lautaro Martinez, who latches on to a fine back-heel pass from Marcus Thuram to make it 1-0.

VAR checks it for offside but the goal stands.

20:14 BST - It's been a frantic start at the Emirates - which is sounding louder than ever - with both sides creating a few half-chances.

Still goalless in both games.

20:00 BST - We are underway!

19:27 BST - This will be just the third meeting between Arsenal and Real Madrid in European competition, following their last 16 tie in the UEFA Champions League in 2005-06. Arsenal won 1-0 in the first leg away from home, before drawing 0-0 at Highbury in the second leg (1-0 on aggregate).

19:11 BST - Here's how the teams will be lining up for tonight's Champions League matches:

Line-ups

18:04 BST - Mikel Arteta’s men remain unbeaten since returning to the competition last season (W8, D2). Arsenal have also won five of their last seven matches against Spanish opposition (D1, L1) and emerged victorious from their only previous tie against Madrid in 2005/06 (W1, D1).

Los Blancos - who have progressed from each of their last 12 UCL quarter-finals - have won their last three UCL away matches outside of Madrid, scoring exactly three goals each time. They have also avoided defeat in the first leg of each of their last eight knockout ties in this competition (W5, D3), but their joint-longest such run will certainly come under threat here as Madrid’s last three UCL eliminations came at the hands of English opponents.

17:50 BST - Boosting confidence for Vincent Kompany’s men in this match may be the fact that Bayern are unbeaten in their last 22 UCL home games (W17, D5), although their last such defeat in the competition was a quarter-final first leg back in 2021.

This is Inter’s third game against Bundesliga opposition this season - the last two both ended 1-0 (W1, L1), with their defeat at Leverkusen adding to a mixed away record against German sides (W6, D8, L9).
