"We have to accept it, the best team won so congratulations to Real Madrid. Now we focus on the Premier League.
"It's a fantastic team. They deserve to go through. We didn't deserve it, it's the first year we didn't make a good Champions League season. We have to accept it and fight for next season to be here again.

"When you play against Manchester City it is always a difficult game but we knew that at home we would be very strong. We played better as a group and we were able to give a lot of joy to the fans.

20:51 GMT - GOAL! Liverpool are back level thanks to a fine finish by Trent Alexander-Arnold, teed up by Salah. It's 2-2: game on!
Salah has now assisted his 15th goal in the Premier League this season, more than any other player. So top of the goals and assist charts right now, decent.
20:47 GMT - There's the half-times across the board. Work to do for City.
Elsewhere, Juventus and PSV are goalless, meaning Juve go through on aggregate as things stand.

18:36 GMT - Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has scored 49 goals in 48 UEFA Champions League games, with his brace in the first leg his first-ever strikes against Real Madrid.
A goal tonight would see him become the fastest to 50 goals in terms of both appearances and age (24 years, 213 days).
18:15 GMT - Aston Villa’s Unai Emery has won just one of his 12 meetings with Liverpool in all competitions (D4 L7), winning the 2016 UEFA Europa League final 3-1 with Sevilla.

"I was loving every minute so another 30 would have been amazing.
"There's just so much disappointment but in the next few days when we take a step back and analyse the fact we're away to Bayern and are disappointed in drawing, I think that says a lot when you think of where we started the competition to where we got to.
"It will stand us in good stead for the future.
"We've got a lot of young players in there that haven't played at this stage, this level, with this kind of pressure so it's a tough learning curve but in the long run it will probably be a good one."
22:37 GMT - Despite defeat, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers feels his side have done Scottish football proud tonight.
"Not what the players deserved, especially right at the very end," Rodgers told Amazon Prime.
"They gave so much to the game.
"We didn't give away too much, I felt our concentration was good and denied them space, and then we had some quality and great moves, and actually had the best chances in the game I felt.
"A real heroic performance, just unfortunate at the end. It was just such a cruel way to not even lose the game but to go out of the competition.
"I think our European credibility has been restored this season; I think we’d built that up from last year; that's my takeaway from this season."

"We'll see how he feels, but I assume it's nothing too bad - we've just got very little time to refresh and recover."
15:05 GMT - Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers urged his underdog side not to die wondering in Tuesday's must-win Champions League second leg away at Bayern Munich.
"Whatever happens on Tuesday, the guys can be really proud of what they've achieved and can look to build on that," he said.
