Highlights
Match report
Chelsea were looking to become only the sixth team in UCL history to overturn a first-leg deficit of three or more goals in a knockout tie, and the home fans appeared to believe their side could make history as they created a fantastic atmosphere before kick-off.
The bubble burst inside six minutes, though, when Mamadou Sarr miscontrolled a long ball, allowing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia – who scored twice off the bench in last Wednesday’s first leg – to race in behind to finish past Robert Sánchez.
PSG punished a second Chelsea error eight minutes later to put the tie out of sight, as another first-leg goalscorer, Bradley Barcola, found the top corner from the edge of the box following a swift counter-attack after the hosts lost possession in midfield.
Les Parisiens were in complete control, and Kvaratskhelia put the ball in the net again just after the half-hour mark, but Warren Zaïre-Emery had provided the assist from an offside position and the goal was ruled out.
Chelsea rallied late in the half, only for Matvei Safonov to deny João Pedro, Cole Palmer, and Jorrel Hato in quick succession, shortly before Sánchez made a good block to deny Barcola from a tight angle.

The Blues returned after HT, knowing they had one more half of UCL football left this season, and Pedro curled inches wide as they looked to go out on a high.
Manager Liam Rosenior brought off Pedro, Palmer, and captain Enzo Fernández just before the hour mark, and one of the replacements, Liam Delap, immediately forced a save from Safonov at close range.
However, PSG showed their ruthlessness again seconds later, as another counter-attack ended with Senny Mayulu curling his fifth goal of the season into the top corner.
Chelsea’s night went from bad to worse as Trevoh Chalobah was taken off on a stretcher after suffering a nasty injury late on, with the Blues now on a run of one win from seven matches inside 90 minutes (D2, L4).
PSG, meanwhile, stretch their unbeaten run against English opposition to a club-record six games (W5, D1), and march on to the quarter-finals as they aim to become the first team since Real Madrid in 2017/18 to successfully defend their UCL title.
