Arsenal head to the San Siro to play Inter Milan for a second successive season in the UEFA Champions League.
Both teams sit at the top of their domestic leagues, but Arsenal are top of the Champions League table, having won all six of their games in the competition. Inter sit sixth in the table, having lost their past two Champions League fixtures.
A point for Arsenal here would see them confirm their place in the top eight of the league phase and miss out on an extra round of the competition. Inter could find themselves out of the top eight if results go against them, so a win here is imperative if they want to retain their position.
With only one fixture left in the Champions League after this, both teams will hope to get their European campaigns off to the best start in 2026.

Inter team news
Inter are missing Hakan Calhanoglu and Denzel Dumfries from their first team squad, with neither set to return for the visit of Arsenal. Dumfries has been out since November with an ankle injury, whereas Calhanoglu missed the two fixtures last week with a muscle injury. Inter will also be missing Raffaele Di Gennaro and Tomas Palacios due to injury.
The Inter team includes ex-Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who started on the weekend against Udinese and is likely to start again against his old club. Marcus Thuram was rested in that same game, but is also likely to return to the starting lineup to reunite with club captain and talisman, Lautaro Martinez.

Arsenal team news
Whilst Arsenal have welcomed back many of their players from injury in recent weeks, they still have several players out. Max Dowman, Piero Hincapie, and Riccardo Calafiori are set to miss the trip to Milan and upcoming games.
The Gunners have a deep squad this season, so there could be some changes from the side that faced Nottingham Forest on the weekend, especially with the visit of Manchester United on the horizon. Gabriel Martinelli has scored in all five of his Champions League appearances this season, and if he scores here, he would be the first Brazilian to have done so in six successive games in this competition.

Head-to-Head record
Inter and Arsenal will meet for the fourth time in the UEFA Champions League, with the Nerazzurri having won two of the previous three (L1), including in last season’s league phase (1-0). It seems the Gunners have struggled when playing in Italy, with their last victory away to an Italian side in the competition coming in March 2008 when they won 2-0 against AC Milan. Since then, they have failed to win on five trips to Italy (D1 L4) and failed to score a single goal.
Arsenal have their best chance to break that run on Tuesday as they have been the best side in the Champions League this season. Mikel Arteta’s team are the only one with an unbeaten record and a 100% win rate in the competition, having conceded only one goal. They did not warm up for their trip to Milan in the best way, drawing 0-0 against Nottingham Forest, but have not lost in 11 games.
Inter have not lost in six times since they were knocked out on penalties by Bologna in the Supercopa. They beat Udinese on the weekend with a weakened side, so they will be back to full strength on Tuesday and ready for Arsenal.
