The wait is over, with the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League final played to a conclusion on Saturday.
The Puskas Arena in Budapest provides the backdrop for a worthy final as Arsenal face Paris Saint-Germain. The English side are chasing their first Champions League winners' medal, while PSG play for two in a row after beating Inter Milan 12 months ago.
Mikel Arteta led his Gunners to an historic Premier League trophy recently, holding off the attentions of Manchester City with a game to spare. That allowed the team from North London to focus their efforts on preparing for this showdown. Arsenal have barely put a foot wrong in this tournament, but it'll all be for nothing if they freeze in front of a global TV audience.
PSG will kick off as the defending champions and the pre-match betting favourites with major bookmakers. Lift the trophy: Arsenal
The first of three suggested bets in the Champions League final is on a new ruler.
If Arsenal finish as this season's European champions, your bet wins, and you'll secure a profit. You can back the Londoners in the match-winner market, meaning they must finish things in 90 minutes. However, the 'to lift the trophy' market covers 90 minutes, extra time, and penalties.
Arsenal finished on top of the Champions League table with a maximum of 24 points collected from eight games. That tally left them three points better than Bayern Munich in second.
In the knockout rounds, they beat Bayer Leverkusen 3-1, Sporting 1-0, and Atletico Madrid 2-1. They enter Saturday's decider as the form team in the competition.

PSG are the current champions, but finished 11th in the league phase. The Parisians edged Monaco 5-4, thumped Chelsea 8-2, Liverpool 4-0, and Bayern Munich 6-5 in the semi-finals.
Arsenal's watertight defence is the obvious difference between the clubs, and I expect that backline to stand firm again. Back Arsenal to win a first European trophy since 1994.
Tip: Arsenal to lift the trophy @ 6/5 (bet365)
Bet explanation: If Arsenal take the Champions League trophy back to North London, your bet wins, and you'll secure a profit.
Total goals: Under 3.5
My second stats-based prediction comes from the total goals market, taking PSG v Arsenal to produce fewer than four goals.
A 2-0 win for the Gunners pays the same as a 2-1 win for PSG or a 0-0 draw. If there are fewer than four goals scored during the 90 minutes in Budapest, you'll secure a profit. The winning team and scorers aren't important.
Let's look at the latest stats available on the Flashscore app ahead of kick-off.
A bet on under 3.5 goals failed 12 months ago when PSG beat Inter Milan 5-0 in Germany. However, the same bet would've returned a profit in six of the last seven finals. That run includes 1-0 wins for Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester City. 1-0 was a winner in four of six.
Arsenal have played five games so far this month, with under 3.5 goals landing each time. They prepared for Saturday's final with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, bagging the Premier League title in style. The Gunners beat Atletico 1-0 in their previous UCL match.
Switching to PSG, under 2.5 goals was a strong bet in their last four matches. That's good enough for me.
Tip: Under 3.5 goals @ 1/3 (bet365)
Bet explanation: If Saturday's Champions League final ends with fewer than four goals scored by both teams combined, you'll boost your betting balance.
Score or assist: Saka
If you've been following my football previews and predictions this season, I hope you enjoyed the ride. There's room for one more profit before turning our attentions to the 2026 World Cup.
I've saved the best for last, picking Bukayo Saka to score or assist in the final. A winning goal for the Londoner is as useful as Saka setting up a teammate for a late tap-in.
Why am I so confident that 24-year-old Saka will feature? The stats give us reason to smile.
The talented attacker has scored 13 goals for club and country already this season. He'd love to bag the most important goal of the season before turning his attention to this summer's action. Saka scored in the semi-finals, sending his employers into the big one.
Saka enters in good form, having scored two goals in his previous four games. As well as scoring the goal that sent Arsenal to the UCL final, Saka also provided the assist for a Kai Havertz strike against Burnley. That turned out to be the goal that won the league.
Saka has featured in four games so far this month, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
Tip: Saka to score or assist @ 13/10 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need Bukayo Saka to score or provide an assist for a teammate to score for Arsenal against PSG on Saturday evening.
