Football fans enjoy a thrilling midweek with the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals played on Tuesday and Wednesday. With eight big-name teams targeting a place in the final four, excitement is guaranteed. On Tuesday, Real Madrid host Bayern Munich and Arsenal travel to Sporting. Wednesday brings Barcelona v Atletico Madrid and PSG v Liverpool.
You'll find four data-led predictions on our UCL quarter-final overview. On this page, we focus on a thriller from the French capital, where defending champions PSG host three-time winners Liverpool. Luis Enrique's team thrashed Milan in last season's final, but have yet to hit top gear this term. They blasted Chelsea last time and now set their sights on Liverpool.
Arne Slot takes his Reds to Paris, aiming to avoid a heavy defeat. The experienced boss knows his best chance of leading Liverpool to the semi-finals comes from keeping the tie alive ahead of Tuesday's decider at Anfield. An away win would place them in a strong position. Flashscore's Champions League betting expert Frank Monkhouse previews.

Match winner - PSG
My first recommended bet on Wednesday evening's match is on the home team to win. PSG haven't been at their best so far, but there's plenty more to come from the 2025 champions. The locals beat the Reds 1-0 in their last meeting, with Ousmane Dembele scoring the only goal of the game at Anfield last March. Both sets of fans would likely accept a repeat here.
PSG proved too good for Chelsea in the previous round, winning 8-2 on aggregate. Enrique's team breezed to a 3-0 second-leg win in London, but the hard work was done in the first leg. The UCL champions destroyed the Blues at this stadium, winning 5-2. The first half was close, ending 2-1, but a second-half goalfest put PSG out of sight on the night.
Since dealing with Chelsea, we've seen PSG in action twice. They warmed up for this quarter-final with a stunning 4-0 away win over Nice in the French Ligue 1 late last month. They then picked up where they left off when opening April with a 3-1 win over Toulouse.
Bet explanation: If PSG beat Liverpool, you'll beat the bookies and make a profit.
Both teams to score - Yes
My second bet comes from the both teams to score market, supporting yes. With this approach, you're betting on both PSG and Liverpool to hit the net at least once each. The final score and scorers aren't important here. A 3-1 home win is every bit as useful as a 2-2 draw or a 2-1 away win. If both clubs score, you'll secure a handy profit on Wednesday.
Looking at PSG's recent form, we see that a bet on both teams to score landed in their most recent outing and in three of their previous five games across all competitions. Switching to Liverpool, they played six times last month, with both teams scoring in four of those games. They lost 2-1 at Wolves, won 3-1 at Molineux, drew 1-1 with Spurs, and lost 2-1 at Brighton.
It's worth noting that Liverpool conceded ten goals and scored five in their last five road trips in the Champions League, FA Cup, and the Premier League. Included in that run is a 1-0 defeat at Galatasaray and a 4-0 thrashing at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in the FA Cup quarter-finals. I'm confident PSG will have no trouble piling the pressure on a weak and nervous defence.
Tip: Both teams to score @ 1/2 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need PSG and Liverpool to score at least one goal each in this match.
Anytime scorer - Kvaratskhelia
As is often the case with my big-match previews, I sign off with a bet at attractive odds. Here, we're backing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to score when Liverpool visit Paris. Again, the final score and winning team don't concern you here. Followers are pinning their hopes on the Georgian attacker Kvaratskhelia finding the back of the net in front of a huge audience.
Why am I so confident Kvaratskhelia will get amongst the goals? His recent form suggests it's a strong approach. The 25-year-old has scored 16 goals already for club and country this season. That includes five in his last five appearances. He got two in that stunning 5-2 win over Chelsea at this stadium, and notched another goal at Stamford Bridge in the 2nd leg.
Need more convincing? Kvaratskhelia bagged a brace when Georgia drew 2-2 with Israel in an international friendly late last month. Those numbers show our pick enters with confidence and momentum. I expect we'll enjoy a few goals in Paris on Wednesday, and Kvaratskhelia has the ability to improve on his already impressive stats. Back him to score at any time during the play.
Tip: Kvaratskhelia to score @ 7/5 (bet365)
Bet explanation: If Kvaratskhelia scores at least one goal against Liverpool, you'll earn a profit.
