Having made positive starts to their respective Champions League campaigns, both Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to extend a positive sequence of results in the French capital on Wednesday night.

The hosts head into the tie having won three of their first four continental fixtures, leaving them in fifth place in the early league phase table. After registering a convincing 4-0 triumph over Serie A strugglers Atalanta, PSG managed to overcome Catalan giants Barcelona at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

A thumping 7-2 victory over Bayer Leverkusen in North Rhine-Westphalia came next, before fellow Bundesliga outfit Bayern Munich inflicted a first defeat on the Parisians earlier this month.

Luis Enrique’s men re-established their two-point lead at the summit of Ligue 1 on Saturday night thanks to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Le Havre, following wins for title challengers Marseille and Lens.

It was a totally different story at the weekend for Tottenham, who were swept aside by bitter rivals Arsenal in a pulsating North London derby. Having now lost three of their last seven contests across all competitions, Thomas Frank is facing real scrutiny for the first time since arriving at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the summer.

Nevertheless, Spurs have at least remained consistent on the European stage. In between impressive home victories over Villarreal and FC Copenhagen, the Lilywhites secured draws against Bodø/Glimt and Monaco on their travels.

Live coverage of this intriguing clash will be provided by TNT Sports, with kick-off at the Parc des Princes scheduled for 20:00 (GMT).

Paris Saint-Germain vs. Tottenham Hotspur team news

Both managers wrestle with several injury headaches, as the impact of an intense early-season schedule really begins to take its toll.

Paris Saint-Germain team news

Achraf Hakimi is still unavailable after spraining his left ankle during Paris Saint-Germain’s last Champions League outing. The Moroccan full-back was scythed down by Bayern Munich's Luis Díaz – who had earlier claimed a quick-fire brace – during the closing stages of the first half, resulting in the visitors being reduced to ten men.

Warren Zaïre-Emery is set to continue at right-back, after proving himself to be an able deputy in recent weeks.

Having already missed six matches earlier on in the campaign due to a niggling calf issue, Désiré Doué returned to the treatment table after sustaining a thigh strain in late October.

Fellow Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé also suffered another setback around the same time, having only just recovered from a severe hamstring injury. However, unlike Doué, this year’s Ballon d’Or recipient is almost back to full fitness.

Nuno Mendes hurt his knee during PSG’s 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, but still managed to complete the full 90 minutes. The Portuguese ace was rested against Lyon before extending his break during November’s international window, but returned to Enrique’s starting line-up on Saturday night.

Tottenham Hotspur team news

Although Thomas Frank’s current injury list isn’t quite as extensive as the one he inherited from predecessor Ange Postecoglou, the Dane is nevertheless operating with a threadbare squad.

James Maddison and Radu Drăgușin continue their respective rehabilitations from ACL tears, although the Romanian is now back in full training.

The current condition of Yves Bissouma is still a mystery following the Malian’s disciplinary issues at the start of the season, while summer arrival Kōta Takai is eventually close to making his Spurs debut.

However, there has been no return date set for Dejan Kulusevski, as the skilful Swede continues to struggle with a debilitating knee problem. Unsurprisingly, all five of these players were not included in Spurs’ provisional Champions League squad, while former Bayern Munich attacker Mathys Tel was also omitted.

Welsh pair Ben Davies and Brennan Johnson are the Lilywhites’ only other potential absentees. Davis missed Sunday’s visit to the Emirates, while Johnson serves a one-match suspension after recently becoming the first British player to register a goal and a red card in a single Champions League match.

Randal Kolo Muani is eligible to face his parent club, with the French forward hoping to make his fifth start in Tottenham colours.

Tottenham predicted line-up vs. Paris Saint-Germain (4-2-3-1)

Guglielmo Vicario (GK); Djed Spence, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Destiny Udogie; João Palhinha, Pape Matar Sarr; Mohammed Kudus, Xavi Simons, Richarlison, Randal Kolo Muani

Where to watch on TV or live stream?

Although last week’s announcement confirmed TNT Sports will lose their Champions League broadcasting rights from the 2027/28 campaign onwards, this season’s coverage remains unaffected. Wednesday’s encounter at the Parc des Princes will be shown on TNT Sports 3, while discovery+ subscribers will be able to access the match via the network’s in-house app.

Head-to-Head record

The only previous meeting between these two teams occurred during the summer, as last season’s Champions League winners and the reigning Europa League holders went toe-to-toe in the 2025 UEFA Super Cup Final.

After central defensive duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven gave Spurs a healthy lead, late goals from Lee Kang-in and Gonçalo Ramos levelled the scoreline at Udinese’s Stadio Friuli. Paris Saint-Germain went on to claim their third piece of major continental silverware following a nerve-shredding penalty shootout, with Nuno Mendes converting the decisive spot-kick.

It’s worth noting that Spurs have lost just two of their last 13 matches against French opposition, in a sequence that includes October’s 0-0 stalemate with Monaco. PSG defeated Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Arsenal at the Parc des Princes en route to last season’s Champions League final, although did come unstuck against Liverpool on home soil. The Parisians admittedly also lost to the Gunners during the league phase of the competition, but later avenged this defeat at the semi-final stage.
