The UEFA Champions League has concluded for the calendar year 2024 with Matchday 6. Here is a stat from each of the 18 games that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday.

6 - For the second time in club history, Liverpool have won all six Champions League group matches. After a 1-0 win at Girona, the Reds are atop the league phase with two games to play. The last time they won all six group games was in 2021/22. Of course, the only difference is that now there are eight league phase games.

0 - For the fifth time in their last six away games in the UCL proper, Celtic have failed to find the back of the net. This comes after a 0-0 draw in Croatia against Dinamo Zagreb. The Scottish champions are on nine points, the most they have obtained at this stage of the competition in 12 years.

8 - Losing 5-1 to Bayern Munich in Gelsenkirchen, Shakhtar Donetsk are now winless across all eight European Cup/Champions League games at home or neutral venue versus German teams, all-time (0-4-4). The reverse was also their third straight defeat in such matches.

18 - It has been a rough go of things for RB Salzburg this term, and after their 3-0 loss at home to Paris Saint-Germain, the Austrian club have conceded 18 goals in the league phase, the most they have ever conceded in a group phase in a UEFA club competition. Bar a miracle, Salzburg will not be in the knockout round playoffs draw on 31 January.

13 - For the second year running, Aston Villa have 13 points from their six group games. The 3-2 success at RB Leipzig - which eliminated the Germans with two games to go - put Villa on four wins from six matches. Their record at this stage of the competition is identical to what they earned a year ago in the UEFA Conference League.

10 - Club Brugge came from behind to beat a struggling Sporting CP 2-1 in their match, meaning that Blauw-Zwart have hit double digits in the group phase of the UCL for their second consecutive appearance. They picked up the same number of points two years ago as they successfully negotiated this stage for the first time in the Champions League era.

7 - Stade Brestois are enjoying their maiden European campaign, earning a fourth victory of the UCL so far. Their 1-0 win over PSV means that the Eredivisie outfit are now winless in their last seven trips to a Ligue 1 club. Their last win came in 2006 against Bordeaux, also in the Champions League group phase.

12 - Bayer Leverkusen left it late, but they beat Inter Milan 1-0 at the BayArena to reach 13 points and virtually secure a knockout round spot. Moreover, Die Werkself are now unbeaten in their last 12 continental home games, the last defeat coming in the 2022/23 Europa League knockout round playoffs against AS Monaco.

9 - Real Madrid seem to love playing in Italy. The holders found their way past Atalanta in a back-and-forth 3-2 thriller in Bergamo. That means the Galacticos have now triumphed in each of their last nine trips to Italy, stretching all the way back to 2015. Their last loss in Italy came in a 2-1 reverse to Juventus in the semifinals.

4 - Lille held their nerve in the end to come away with a 3-2 win over Sturm Graz in one of Wednesday's early matches. Les Dogues now have four wins in the UCL league phase, the most they have ever had at this stage of the competition in a single season. They also managed four wins in the Conference League group stage last fall.

17 - Slovan Bratislava could not get points on the board in Spain, as their 3-1 defeat to Atletico Madrid was their sixth defeat in nine against La Liga opposition all-time (1-2-6). The Slovak side, now eliminated from the competition - have conceded 17 goals to Spanish teams in Europe.

22 - Young Boys have had a rough go in the competition this term, and it got worse on Wednesday with the 5-1 beating they took at Stuttgart. The Swiss champions have conceded the most goals in the UCL this fall with 22, averaging nearly four goals a game. Half of those came in their last two games.

3 - Manchester City's collapse continues. Their latest disappointment came in a 2-0 loss at Juventus, with the Bianconeri now just the second team to beat City at least four times in Europe. Moreover, Pep Guardiola's side are winless in their last three UCL games (0-1-2), their worst run since 2018, when they remarkably lost three in a row.

5 - Feyenoord have finally beaten Sparta Praha, with the former winners of the European Cup prevailing 4-2. That result put the Dutch club in a great position to make the knockout rounds. The other good news is that Feyenoord earned their first victory over Sparta at the fifth time of asking, having lost three of the first four.

21 - While Young Boys have the most goals let in, Barcelona have the most goals scored. The Catalans have now reached 21 in six following their entertaining 3-2 success at Borussia Dortmund. This is also the most Barca have scored in any UCL group phase, outdoing their 19 from the 1999/2000 first round robin.

33 - Benfica and Bologna played to a 0-0 stalemate in the Portuguese capital, a result that virtually eliminates the Italians. However, the result ended a run of 33 consecutive European home games for Benfica in which a goal was scored. The last 0-0 draw they had at the Estadio da Luz came in 2019 in the Europa League round of 32 versus Galatasaray.

50 - In Arsenal's 3-0 victory over AS Monaco, they mustered 16 attempts on goal, with exactly half of them - 50% - being on target.  The win puts the Gunners up into third spot with two games to play in the league phase. For Monaco, it was their fifth loss against an English club.

11 - AC Milan found their winner in the 87th minute to get past Crvena Zvezda 2-1 at San Siro. While the Rossoneri are on the cusp of progression, the Serbs are in big trouble and will need some big results to advance. The loss was their 11th straight in European away fixtures, qualifiers included. They have still never won a Champions League game (group stage onwards) away.
