Women's football returned on Wednesday and Thursday with the first legs of the Champions League knockout playoffs and Europa Cup quarter-finals. Here is a stat from the 16 sides who took the pitch across the two days.

Arsenal dominate in Women's Champions League

17 - Just as was the case in December, OH Leuven were well beaten at home by Arsenal. This time, the defending champions scored one more than they did a month and a half ago, prevailing 4-0. Bar the most remarkable comeback of all time, the Belgians will see their maiden European season conclude in the decider. They have now have conceded 17 goals during their European run this season.

19 - The holders were much more like themselves in what was a dominant showing. Frida Leonhardsen-Maanum scored once in each half, with Olivia Smith and Alessia Russo also contributing to the goals for the Gunners. Arsenal were in complete control from the get-go, ending the match with a total of 19 shots.

6 - Wednesday's other game was far more fascinating, with Paris FC and Real Madrid playing a thrilling clash. In the end, the Spaniards take a narrow 3-2 first-leg advantage with them back home. Maeline Mendy's 89th-minute goal might give the French side hope here. After all, that was their sixth goal versus Real all-time across four matches.

2 - It was a very even contest, but Real once again find a way to get the job done. Two trips to the French capital this term resulted in victories for Las Blancas. They are 90 minutes away from matching their best run in the UWCL, having twice reached the quarter-finals before. Funny enough, both of their away wins over Paris-based opposition are their only ones versus French clubs (2-2-5)

40 - Thursday's action kicked off with an incredible encounter in Germany, where Wolfsburg struck late on to draw 2-2 against Juventus. It was a late comeback for the two-time champions, who had goals from Janina Minge and Sarai Linder in the final 10 minutes plus stoppage time. The latter's 95th-minute leveller was the club's 40th goal against an Italian side in Europe.

4 - The final 15 minutes of the match might prove to be detrimental for Juventus in their hopes of making the quarter-finals four years on from their only previous appearance. They do remain unbeaten against Wolfsburg from three clashes (1-2-0). Moreover, Le Bianconere have managed to score in all four of their European away games this season.

10 - In what was another rematch from the league phase, Manchester United once again rose to the occasion, topping Atletico Madrid 3-0 on the road. Despite outshooting their opponents, Atleti were unable to find their way past the Red Devils, leaving them on the cusp of elimination. With this being their fourth continental loss this term, Las Rojiblancas have conceded 10 times during those defeats.

9 - It was a very good week for English teams once more, with United winning for the fifth time this term. Having never reached the competition proper before this season, the Red Devils are already creating history for themselves. In fact, including qualifying, no team have more clean sheets in Europe this campaign than United, with Thursday's game being the ninth game they have not conceded.

Frankfurt, Hacken claim huge Europa Cup victories

3 - On to the UEFA Women's Europa Cup now, where Sparta Praha and Austria Wien opened Wednesday's quarter-finals with a goalless draw in Czechia. The hosts had two more shots than their opponents (9-7) in a tight encounter. The second leg will be quite the fascinating match. Sparta have not had much joy at home in the competition, failing to score in their three games.

5 - Perhaps it should not be a surprise that Austria Wien were able to keep Sparta off the board. As mentioned, they have yet to score at home in the UWEC. But that is not the only reason this result is unsurprising. FAK, playing in their second continental campaign (and first under their current guise), have kept five clean sheets this term. Funny enough, all of them have come on the road.

15 - Eintracht Frankfurt have one foot in the semi-finals thanks to a comfortable 4-0 defeat of FC Nordsjaelland. Rebecka Blomqvist bagged a brace for the German side as they coasted to a dominant first-leg victory. Of course, Die Adler are no strangers to the European scene, having won the UWCL four times. They have scored 15 goals in Europe this term, the most among the eight teams left in the UWEC.

1 - Nordsjaelland's maiden continental journey seems set to end. Three-time winners of the Danish Women's Cup, the side from Farum can still dream of progressing. After all, they have scored four or more times on four occasions this season in Europe. However, they will have to start off by getting shots on target. They had just one of those in the first leg.

14 - In what was a first competitive match of 2026 for both teams, Hacken ran rampant in their clash with Breidablik. The 7-0 success in Goteborg has the Swedes prepared for a maiden continental semi-final. In what is their first quarter-final showing since 2012/13, Hacken have scored seven times in a European match for the second time. The other occasion came 14 years ago against Osijek.

23 - On the flip side, Breidablik have matched their best-ever European run, having also made the quarter-finals of the Champions League back in 2006/07, back when the competition was known as the UEFA Women's Cup. Believe it or not, this is not the heaviest defeat the club have suffered. The Icelandic outfit have not been beaten this badly in a European game in 23 years.

7 - We have another tight encounter between Sporting CP and Hammarby. Emilie Joramo played hero for the Damallsvenskan side in their 1-0 victory in the Portuguese capital, giving them the narrow edge heading into Wednesday's decider. In what is their first defeat in the UWEC, Sporting had seven attempts to find the back of the net.

0 - Two-time domestic winners Hammarby are 90 minutes away from an impressive victory. They knocked off Benfica in the UWCL qualifiers last term, also winning on the road. That could be a good omen for them ahead of Wednesday. Across two visits to the Iberian nation - both times in Lisbon - Hammarby have not conceded a goal.
