Carrick has sparked optimism after guiding the side back to third place in the Premier League table, with his latest win coming against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon.
Maguire and Yoro partnered for the full 90 minutes in United’s crucial 3-1 win, which saw their chances of securing Champions League football increase.
Yoro, who is learning from Maguire, admits that the England international is boosting the side, who are only getting better under Carrick.
“He spoke to me a lot on the pitch, so this helped me a lot," Yoro said.
“He always speaks with me, like (dealing with) the striker, sometimes he speaks before the game, or at half-time, about positioning as well, so playing with him is really good for me.
“Having Harry in the team is good for us.
“If he can stay next season, it's really good for us. So I hope he's going to extend his contract and he can stay with us. We'll see, we'll see anyway.”
Maguire is out of contract after this season, and The i Paper reports that he's willing to slash his wages by half to secure a new contract as he works his way into Carrick’s long-term plans.
The defender has won over fans in recent years since being stripped of the captaincy under Erik ten Hag in 2023 and United are likely to hand him a new deal at 33 years old as they hope to harness more of his experience.
