Coventry moved a step closer to the Premier League as the Championship leaders snatched a dramatic 2-1 win against Stoke on Saturday.

Jack Rudoni netted deep into second half stoppage-time to hand Coventry a fourth successive victory in their bid to return to the top-flight for the first time since 2000-01.

Haji Wright had headed Frank Lampard's side into the lead before Ben Gibson equalised on the stroke of half-time with what proved to be Stoke's only shot on target.

Coventry are now eight points clear of second-placed Middlesbrough, who travel to Birmingham on Monday.

Ryan Leonard's stunning first-half strike put third-placed Millwall on course for a 2-0 win at Preston.

The right-back scored his first Championship goal of the season with a curling strike from just inside the penalty area in the 29th minute.

Luke Cundle came off the bench to score Millwall's second goal with a close-range finish from Femi Azeez's cross in second-half stoppage time.

Alex Neil's team are just one point behind Middlesbrough in the race for automatic promotion.

Fourth-placed Ipswich bolstered their challenge for a top two berth with 3-0 win over Swansea at Portman Road.

Anis Mehmeti, Ivan Azon and George Hirst were on target for Ipswich, who are three points adrift of Middlesbrough.

Wrexham held onto the final play-off place with a 1-0 win at Charlton.
