Leeds took the result of the weekend with a 7-0 win over Cardiff to stamp their authority on the promotion race while both Sheffield United and Sunderland picked up important victories.
Burnley were held to yet another 0-0 draw away at Portsmouth, and at the other end of the table, Plymouth picked up their first three points of 2025 with a shock triumph against West Brom.

Leeds hit seven past Cardiff
We start off our round-up with what was undoubtedly the result of the weekend; Leeds' resounding 7-0 thrashing of Cardiff.
The Yorkshire club currently tops the Championship table and although they didn't gain too many points on their promotion rivals over the weekend, the heavy win saw their goal difference soar upwards - which could essentially be an extra point itself come the end of the campaign.
Six different scorers found the net over the weekend for Leeds with Joel Piroe netting a brace while Brenden Aaronson, Manor Solomon, Dan James, Wilfried Gnonto and Mateo Joseph also got in on the action.
Victory by such a large margin saw Leeds' goal difference rise to +41 which is 14 more than Burnley's +27 - the second highest in the division.
Daniel Farke's side have also now scored 60 goals for the current campaign and look to be hitting an unstoppable run of form at the perfect time heading into the remaining third of the season.
Automatic promotion currently looks like Leeds' to lose although three teams behind have so far kept chase, with only five points separating first and fourth place.

Sunderland triumph over rivals Middlesbrough
Monday night's game saw Middlesbrough host Sunderland in a local derby (maybe? It depends on who you ask).
The Black Cats have been flying high in the Championship this season but faced one of their toughest tests yet with the trip to the Riverside Stadium, where they have not won in the league for 20 years.
Victory was of paramount importance to both keep in the chase for a top-two spot and avoid being dragged into a play-off battle - and Sunderland did just that with a 3-2 triumph.
Middlesbrough opened the scoring after Delano Burgzorg was played through on goal and finished cooly past Anthony Patterson, although the visitors hit back with Dan Neil's deflected strike to see the first half end 1-1.
Wilson Isidor was the coolest man in the North East for Sunderland's second, taking the ball around Mark Travers and tapping into and empty net before Hayden Hackney then equalised for the hosts with an exceptional strike.
The game would be won just a few minutes from time in a cruel turn of events after Enzo Le Fee's cross was turned in by Middlesbrough's own player Ryan Giles.
Entertaining scenes followed at full-time as Isidor mounted his kit on Middlesbrough's corner flag and paraded it in front of the away end, while Chris Rigg grabbed a flag from the stands and enjoyed what was a major weight lifted off of the Black Cats' shoulders.
The win puts Sunderland right in the mix for automatic promotion, while Michael Carrick's side now sit outside the play-offs after 30 games - something that needs to change before the end of the campaign.
Middlesbrough faced quite a turbulent January transfer window and now have to regroup with several new faces to push for the top six in the remaining matches of the season.
Plymouth pick up important win against West Brom
Plymouth looked down and out just a month ago but have since cut the gap to safety down to just four points after a draw against Sunderland and last weekend's 2-1 win against West Brom.
Argyle are under new management following the arrival of Miron Muslic and look to be building up to what could be an almighty great escape if they can keep up their current form.
Saturday's win over West Borm came as a surprise to many with Plymouth showing excellent fight to come from behind and secure victory late in the game.
Ryan Hardie's brace saw the home team take all three points despite Jason Molumby opening the scoring for West Brom after 74 minutes.

Argyle currently sit bottom of the Championship but in recent weeks have shown the fight needed to mount a survival push in the remaining months of the campaign - something that seemed almost impossible just a few weeks ago.
They will have to overtake Luton, Derby and Hull based on the current standings but plenty will change over the next 16 games, with the relegation battle shaping up to be just as exciting as the push for promotion.
Thomas-Asante keeps Coventry's streak going
Coventry defeated Swansea 2-0 on Saturday to continue a run of five consecutive wins in all competitions.
Brandon Thomas-Asante was on hand to double his side's lead just before half-time with an outrageous first-time strike from distance - pouncing on a loose ball and looping his effort over goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux.
The forward's strike stood out across the weekend as one of the best goals scored in the Championship - although a special mention goes to Luton's Alfie Doughty whose rocket against Sheffield Wednesday comes in at a close second.
James stands out for Leeds
This week's Player of the Week is Leeds winger Dan James, who scored and got two assists in their 7-0 win over Cardiff.
Several players picked up high ratings for the Yorkshire club - although the Welshman was far and away the highest scorer.
Take a look at a full Top 11 of the weekend's best Championship performers:
