Just 11 games remain for the majority of Championship clubs, with the business end of the season drawing closer each week. The latest round of fixtures saw plenty of developments at both ends of the table, and Flashscore are here to take a look at all the major talking points.

Leicester are in the relegation zone after yet another defeat and look to be in serious trouble, while West Brom sit perilously close to the bottom three after being beaten by 23rd-placed Oxford.

At the other end of the table, Wrexham continued their play-off push with a narrow victory over Charlton, and Millwall moved into third following a 2-0 triumph at Preston.

League leaders Coventry have got their momentum back and secured a fourth-straight win by beating Stoke 2-1 with a last-minute strike from Jack Rudoni.

Here, Flashscore take a look at all the key talking points from the latest round of Championship action.

Leicester in serious trouble

Leicester's plight has been well-documented this season, with the Foxes deducted six points at the beginning of 2026.

They've also picked up just one league win this year and are in freefall down the table.

Their latest defeat came at the hands of the in-form Norwich, who won 2-0 at the King Power Stadium after goals from Anis Ben Slimane and Ali Ahmed.

Leicester sit 22nd in the table and, as things stand, will drop into League One if their form doesn't pick up - almost 10 years to the day since they were crowned Premier League champions.

The Foxes recently appointed Gary Rowett as their new manager, who has experience in keeping sides in the Championship, but things haven't gone to plan so far.

The Englishman is still chasing his first win, having overseen two draws and one defeat. It looks increasingly likely that Leicester will drop into the third tier, unless they can catch fellow strugglers West Brom.

The Baggies haven't tasted victory in the league since December and recently sacked manager Eric Ramsay following a run of four draws and five defeats in nine games.

Two clubs that were in the Premier League just a few years ago are now facing the drop into the third tier, and a dramatic fight for survival is set to unfold in the coming weeks.

Also keep an eye on Oxford, who could still leapfrog both in their journey for safety, as well as Blackburn, who sit perilously above West Brom, just four points from the bottom three.

Wrexham pushing for the play-offs

Wrexham have been one of the surprise packages in the Championship this season and currently sit sixth in the table.

While a relegation battle was never quite expected for the newly-promoted side after some eye-watering spending last summer, plenty will still be surprised by just how well Phil Parkinson's side have adapted to the second tier.

Their form since Boxing Day has been seriously impressive - the Red Dragons have picked up nine wins from 13 league games and have lost just twice in that time.

While Kieffer Moore and Josh Windass have been the main sources of goals throughout the campaign, the load is spread quite evenly across the team.

Plenty of players chip in when needed, and Wrexham have netted eight times in their last three games, with a different scorer for every goal.

Oli Rathbone was the latest to find the net in their 1-0 win over Charlton.

Wrexham's latest win marked three victories on the bounce, and Parkinson's side look like a serious contender to finish in the play-off positions.

Promotion race heats up

The race for a top two spot and automatic promotion to the Premier League looks to be resting on a knife-edge, with Coventry opening up a nine-point gap between themselves and third spot, while Middlesbrough have a four-point safety net.

The Sky Blues recently notched their fourth consecutive win after snatching a 2-1 victory against Stoke.

Haji Wright opened the scoring before Ben Gibson netted an equaliser, only for Jack Rudoni to convert in the 94th-minute to secure a dramatic late triumph.

Middlesbrough got back to winning ways on Monday evening after beating Birmingham 3-1.

Former Aston Villa defender Matt Targett netted twice in the first half before David Strelec completed the scoring on the hour mark - allowing Kim Hellberg's side to open up a gap between themselves and the play-off spots.

All eyes now turn to fourth-placed Ipswich, who have two games in hand and could leapfrog Middlesbrough if they win both of them.

The first comes against Hull on Tuesday evening, who sit level on points with the Tractor Boys and will equally fancy their chances of a late charge at the top two.

Above both of those clubs, though, is Millwall. The Lions have hit a strong run of form in 2026, having won seven of their last 10 games.

Things are really starting to heat up in the race for a top-two finish, and every club mentioned will fancy their chances as the business end of the season rapidly approaches.

Ngakia nets stunner in Watford win

Our Goal of the Week goes to Watford defender Jeremy Ngakia, who bagged a stunning strike in the Hornets' 2-1 win away at Bristol City.

The ball fell to the full-back on the edge of the penalty area, and he was afforded the time to control and set himself before firing an unstoppable effort into the top corner - a goal worthy of winning any game.

Mehmeti shines for Ipswich

Anis Mehmeti joined Ipswich in the January transfer window and is starting to find his feet at Portman Road.

The midfielder excelled in the Tractor Boys' 3-0 thrashing of Swansea on Saturday, grabbing a goal and an assist.

His performance earned an 8.8 Flashscore player rating, the highest of anyone across the weekend - making Mehmeti our Player of the Week!
