Aberdeen’s hopes of qualifying for the next round of the UEFA Conference League (UECL) look all but over after failing to overcome Armenian outfit Noah, drawing 1-1 at the Pittodrie Stadium to maintain their winless ways in the competition.

Aiming to build on their weekend win over Scottish leaders Hearts, Aberdeen held their own well before breaking the deadlock minutes before HT, following good work on the left wing by Topi Keskinen who set up Kevin Nisbet for the opener.

The Scotsman chose the perfect time to score his first goal of the season, sending the keeper the wrong way with a brilliant turn-and-finish.

That goal seemed to wake up the visitors, and they produced their first shot on target directly from a free-kick, with Helder Ferreira testing Dimitar Mitov just before HT.

Despite a slow start to the second half from both sides, Noah produced a moment of quality to equalise five minutes into the second half.

A pinpoint curling cross from Matheus Aias found strike partner Nardin Mulahusejnovic who had peeled off from the Aberdeen defenders to head home his fourth goal in the competition to date.

The tempo had risen for both sides with both pushing to strike, with Nisbet going close a few minutes after Noah’s equaliser.

Karlsson forced a corner with a quick break not long after before Nicolas Milanovic hit the side netting after a swift Aberdeen break as the momentum switched.

Nicky Devlin then nearly gave his side the lead, curling a brilliant effort a few yards past the right-hand post, with Timothy Fayulu stranded as they continued to search for what would be a crucial winner.

Milanovic nearly stole the show but his header was too high despite finding a great position in the box.

With the spoils shared, Aberdeen’s qualifying hopes look to be hanging by a thread, sitting in 33rd on just two points facing the prospect of two difficult nights against Strasbourg and Sparta Prague in their last two games.

Noah sit joint 21st on five points and have a contrasting run as they are set to face off against 27th and 28th in the league table in Dynamo Kiev and Legia Warsaw respectively and they will be aiming for a playoff finish.
