Brighton travel to the Emirates to face Premier League rivals Arsenal in what will be a very tough game for Hurzeler’s side, who are coming off the back of an astonishing second straight 6-0 win over Barnsley in the third round.
Arsenal are unbeaten in 10, have won seven on the spin and have kept five clean sheets in their last five games in all tournaments.
Shockingly, Brighton have failed to make the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup since the 1978/79 edition and have been eliminated at the last 16 stage four times in the last five seasons - a statistic that does not bode well for Hurzeler's side.
How can Hurzeler balance his side?
Hurzeler first confirmed James Milner will miss the clash through injury before opening up on balancing squad rotation for the cup.
"We have to believe, and we really trust the young players because they are here for a reason.
"It is not about age, it is about quality, but for sure you need a good balance in the team."
Hurzeler praises Arsenal
Next, he was asked about opponents Arsenal, who have not won the cup since 1993 in a surprising statistic.
"They are doing well, very good out of possession and good with set pieces, so I think these are two main factors that make them so successful.
"Very disciplined. Everyone attacks and defends the box, they are very effective with set pieces so it will be a big challenge for us tomorrow."
How can you defend against Gabriel?
Arsenal are well known for their set pieces over the past few seasons and Hurzeler was asked how he can defende against defender Gabriel who has scored a number of goals from corners.
"You can’t defend one against one. It is also not just Gabriel, they do it very well together and have really good patterns.
"On the other side, we are quite good in defending and also try to build a set-piece culture but that doesn’t come overnight and it needs time.
"It's getting more important in the Premier League. We are quite confident that we are capable of defending against them."
