Good game from the Brazilian, who is undoubtedly one of the most important signings of the season for the Andalusians. Chema Andrés was one of the most outstanding players for Stuttgart.

The Europa League group stage is over. After the frenetic excitement of the end of the first phase of the Champions League, the Europa League has been demanding and tenacious, but with a few degrees less tension in the air.

The favourites (Aston Villa, Lyon and Roma) have qualified for the last 16. Nottingham Forest, another team with an interesting squad, have fallen short and will play in the playoffs.

As always, our XI was selected based on Flashscore's in-house player rating system. The highest rated player was Genk's Daan Heymans, who scored from the penalty spot in his side's 2-1 victory.

This is our Europa League Team of the Round:

Goalkeeper

Stefan Tarnovanu (FCSB) - 8.3

It was a great performance from the Romanian goalkeeper against Fenerbahce. The Turks had six shots on target and Tarnovanu was indispensable in holding his side to a draw against the Turkish side.

Defenders

Zakaria El Ouahdi (Genk) - 8.8

Genk beat Malmo 2-1 in a tight encounter. An outstanding performance from El Ouahdi completed one of the best performances of the week in the Europa League against the Swedish club. Genk finished 9th in the table.

Nathan Ngoy (Lille) - 8.5

Lille held on until stoppage time to beat Freiburg in a tightly contested encounter. Ngoy was outstanding in the back line for the French side. World Cup winner Giroud settled the game with a goal in the 92nd minute to help Lille to victory.

Chema Andres (Stuttgart) - 8.1

The young Spanish defender scored the match-winning goal for historic German side Stuttgart against Swiss side Young Boys (3-2). The Germans finished in 11th place and will play in the playoffs.

Merchas Doski (Plzen) - 8.0

The Czech team defeated Basel 1-0 in Switzerland. Doski has excelled in a three-man defence against a very physical and powerful Basel side.

Midfielders

James McAtee (Nottingham Forest) - 8.9

One of the highest ratings of the Europa League matchday. The former Manchester City man has enjoyed regular minutes since leaving the Etihad. He has become an important part of Nottingham's midfield and played a crucial role in Forest's big win.

Ibrahim Sangare (Nottingham Forest) - 8.8

Less consistent than McAtee, the pivot has shown great fitness (his greatest quality) in Nottingham's four-goal thrashing of Ferencvaros.

Kostantinos Karetsas (Genk) - 8.5

Greigo scored Genk's winning goal against Malmo. He came on as a substitute and was one of the standout players of the match.

Forwards

Daan Heymans (Genk) - 9.2

Our MVP of the matchday. The striker scored Genk's first goal (via penalty) and was a real headache for the Malmö defence. He got the best Flashscore rating.

Jonathan Rowe (Bologna) - 8.5

The playmaker scored the opening goal in Bologna's 3-0 away win over Maccabi Tel Aviv. Rowe has been in fine form since joining the Italian side.

Antony (Real Betis) - 8.3

The Brazilian is undoubtedly Betis' signing of the season. He performs in all competitions and makes the most of every opportunity he is given by Manuel Pellegrini's coaching staff and was outstanding again on Thursday night.
