Eintracht Frankfurt host Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie on Thursday. Spurs will be looking to put last weekend's poor performance against Wolves in the Premier League behind them and beat Frankfurt on their own patch. Frankfurt, on the other hand, will be feeling buoyant after their 3-0 rout of Heidenheim in the Bundesliga and will now hope to ride that momentum all the way to the semis.

With the tie firmly in the balance after a 1-1 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, both sides will be looking to claim a decisive victory in this leg. For Spurs, the Europa League is their only avenue to gain silverware and qualify for European football next season. For Frankfurt, they will be hoping to continue their great season, regaining the title they won three years ago.

Frankfurt team news

First-choice goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is a longer-term absentee for Eintracht Frankfurt, who will also be missing Ansgar Knauff. Knauff has been absent for the last four games with a knee injury whereas Trapp has missed the last six. Junior Dina Ebimbe has also missed the last three games because of stomach flu, so it is yet to be seen if he will return for the Europa League clash.

There are no new injury concerns for the Eagles, which is welcome news to fans of the German side who welcomed back 19-year-old Can Uzun against Tottenham last week. The young talent featured for just over 60 minutes against Heidenheim on the weekend so would be expected to feature in some guise against Spurs on Thursday.

Tottenham team news

Midfielder Dejan Kulusevski returned to first-team action over the weekend, which will be a big boost to his teammates and boss Ange Postecoglou. Richarlison came off the bench and scored at the weekend as he eased back from a calf injury that saw him miss 10 games.

Club Captain Son Heung-min was missing from the squad that faced Wolves on Sunday because of injury, but the South Korean star is set to be available for Thursday’s huge clash. The same goes for Wilson Odobert who Postecoglu said was missing on Sunday to manage his minutes on his return from injury.

Radu Dragusin and Kevin Danso remain long-term injuries for Spurs and will still be out for the trip to Frankfurt.

Head-to-Head record

Pressure has been building on Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou for some weeks now. His side's form has been poor, with Spurs languishing in 15th in the Premier League. They have had only one win in their last five games, and that came against Southampton, who were relegated from the league after that game. The Europa League is seen as a possible salvation for Spurs and will guarantee them Champions League football next season, but anything other than a victory against Frankfurt could see Ange become the next manager for the chopping block.

Eintracht Frankfurt on the other hand are having a stellar season in the Bundesliga. Dino Toppmoller’s men are third, four points clear of RB Leipzig in fourth and are in prime position to take a Champions League spot for next season. The Eagles' form in the last five games has been positive, with three wins and they hope to ride their recent momentum in Thursday’s clash back in their home stadium.

This will be the fourth time the two teams have met in a competitive fixture after meeting in the Champions League group stages in 2022/23. In those games, the teams drew the first fixture 0-0 before Spurs came out on top 3-2 at home. The first leg of this tie ended in a stalemate, with Frankfurt being lucky that Spurs did not take all three points, but with the second leg upon us, anyone could win.

Odds for Frankfurt vs Tottenham
