The Reds now return to Wolves in the FA Cup on Friday.
Speaking this morning, Slot stated: "It wasn't so difficult to analyse, a lot of ball possession for us without being able to create a lot of chances. Not the first time this season it has happened. Enough chances to win the game.
"We didn't convert into goals. And not for first time this season their first shot on target led to a goal. That was also the moment we started to realise we had to bring even more than before and from that moment on we generated quite a lot of chances, scored, missed a few others, then a deflected shot went in.
"It was hard to take. But we are one day before another very important game for us. We analysed it, we know we have to be better tomorrow."
Conceding late not main concern
Liverpool lost again in injury-time on Tuesday, but Slot insists it isn't a cause for concern.
He continued: "If you lose many times in the same manner then it's more of a concern.
"Way we concede goals in these last minutes is not always similar, set-pieces, shots from outside back.
"They aren't big chances we are giving away.
"Is it our approach? Not too sure about that as we want to win that game. We're Liverpool. We want to win every game."
Meanwhile, Slot was asked if the inconsistency this season should lead to him changing their way of playing.
He replied, bristling: "I'm almost annoyed if you say 'that approach'. The approach isn't different. We want to have the ball as often as possible and then get it back as often as possible, so we press high.
"It's never the approach that changes in the game.
"We bring enough players forward but we aren't converting enough chances."
Taking FA Cup seriously
On Friday's fifth round tie, Slot insists he will select a team to win the game.
He continued: "Every game is important. Last season we tried to win four trophies, this season we did, two are now not possible, we can't win the Premier League or League Cup.
"Qualification for Champions League is massive as we all know. But that's not on line tomorrow, FA Cup is."
On shaking up his XI, Slot stated: "We have a few but we don't have 11. I always have options to bring in and players can bring in and let them start.
"Not for the first time this season, three days after a game where we have dropped points, I've seen us do quite a lot this season, we have to be better than we were last time."
Drop Gakpo?
Some pundits have been urging Slot to replace Cody Gakpo with teenager Rio Ngumoha. The Dutchman has struggled for goals in recent weeks.
However, his manager says: "We are not in terms of chance creation last in the league. We're not doing that bad. We're also the team with most ball possession so you'd expect us to create more.
"Cody and Mo (Salah) we expect and they expect from themselves to score more. But attacking isn't just down to Cody and Mo in the same way defending isn't just down to Virgil (van Dijk) and Ibou (Konate). Let's create even more and the goals will come."
Same old story?
After the Molineux defeat, Slot complained that the result was the "same old story" from Liverpool this season. Asked to expand on those comments, he insisted Liverpool have improved over the season - though more can be done.
He said: "You see individual players getting better and better. Progress has had setbacks due to injuries.
"One of the players who creates is Florian Wirtz. He got injured three games ago. Before that, the team had a certain balance and we've had to adjust again. That's happened a lot this season.
"There are periods we have conceded a lot of goals on counter-attacks and set-pieces. Against Wolves we conceded on counter-attack, but I see an improvement overall in defending them.
"Not all the games have improved in terms of creating chances. But we're not the only team that finds it hard to create from open play. It's the quality of the league that makes it more complicated."
