Inter Miami v Porto, Thursday, 20:00 BST

Inter Miami - Porto
Inter Miami - PortoAFP

Inter Miami prepare for the challenge of Porto at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with the MLS side hoping to go one better than last time. There's all to play for after Inter Miami drew 0-0 with Al Ahly at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami before more than 60,000 spectators. Inter held their own against a solid opponent, and had chances to win the match, but know they must be more clinical in their return.

Porto also ended matchday one with a share of the spoils. The Primeira Liga team fought out a goalless finish with Brazilian side Palmeiras, with both teams seemingly happy not to lose. Porto must be more adventurous this week, but I expect their class to shine through. I'm happy to take a chance on the Europeans at fair odds.

Tip: Porto to win @ 8/13 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Porto beat Inter Miami, your bet wins.

PSG v Botafogo, Friday, 02:00 BST

PSG v Botafogo
PSG v BotafogoAFP

French Ligue 1 and European champions, PSG got off to a dream start when thrashing Spanish La Liga side Atletico Madrid 4-0 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The Parisians made light work of what had been billed as a tough match, and it was plain to see there was plenty more to come from the big names. A win on Friday morning would secure them a spot in the knockout rounds, and that's exactly what I expect to happen.

Botafogo done us a favour when beating MLS team Seattle Sounders at Lumen Field last time. Surprisingly, Seattle were the pre-match betting favourites, prompting us to seize the value on the Brazilians. A 2-1 win over an opponent from the MLS was good work, but it doesn't compare to what we saw from their opponents when dismantling a strong Madrid.

Tip: PSG win @ 2/11 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If PSG beat Botafogo, your bet wins.

Bayern Munich v Boca Juniors, Saturday, 02:00 BST

Bayern Munich v Boca Juniors
Bayern Munich v Boca JuniorsAFP

German Bundesliga big guns Bayern Munich were the standout performers in the opening week when making a mockery of the Club World Cup with a 10-0 win over the part-timers of Auckland City. It was as one-sided a game as the scoreline suggests, despite FCB never getting out of first gear. They face a much sterner test in Boca Juniors, but I'm sticking with the Germans to win and cement their spot in the top two.

Boca Juniors drew with Benfica in a four-goal thriller at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami Gardens. The Argentines moved into a 2-0 lead inside 27 minutes, before allowing their opponents back into the game. They're strong in attack, but question marks remain over their defence.

Tip: Both score and Bayern Munich win @ 7/4 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Bayern Munich to win, but also to concede at least once.

Flamengo v Chelsea, Friday, 19:00 BST

Flamengo v Chelsea
Flamengo v ChelseaAFP

Folllowers have an interesting showdown in Philadelphia on Friday morning when Chelsea look to build on a 2-0 win over Los Angeles in the opening game of Group D. The Blues weren't at their best, but had the quality needed to hurt their opponents in the final third with good ball retention, crisp passing, and ruthless finishing. A better opponent will encourage a better performance from Chelsea, and I expect the Londoners to move onto six points.

Brazilian side Flamengo also won 2-0 in their first start in the United States. They saw off the Tunisian champions Esperance de Tunis almost without breaking a sweat. I expect them to score against Chelsea, but I predict the Blues to win an entertaining match. We'll see more of their class in attack here.

Tip: Chelsea win and both score @ 5/2 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Chelsea must win the game, but you need Flemengo to score.

Inter Milan v Urawa Reds, Saturday, 20:00 BST

Inter Milan v Urawa Reds
Inter Milan v Urawa RedsAFP

Inter Milan were humiliated when suffering a heavy defeat in this season's UEFA Champions League final. The Serie A runners-up want to put that nightmare behind them and going deep into this tournament will help heal those wounds. Inter has a great chance to bag three points here and move closer to the knockout stages. I expect a hassle-free win.

Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds appear in Group E and know they have a decent chance of progressing. But I expect their fate to be decided in a shootout with Monterrey at the Rose Bowl in game three. Back Inter Milan for an impressive win and trust them to keep things tight at the back following that horror show against PSG.

Tip: Inter Milan win to nil @ 10/11 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You want Inter Milan to win without conceding a goal.

Mamelodi v Dortmund, Saturday, 17:00 BST

Mamelodi v Dortmund
Mamelodi v DortmundAFP

The Mamelodi Sundowns could be the whipping boys of Group F, and I expect the South Africans to struggle against big-name opposition this weekend. The Sundowns are the South African Premiership champions, but face a huge leap up in class when playing the fourth-best team from the German Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund will fancy their chances of progressing as winners of the pool. They have the squad, big-match experience, and form after winning each of their last five games in the Bundesliga. I don't expect Borussia to encounter too much resistance on Saturday afternoon.

Tip: Dortmund to win to nil @ 1/1 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Dortmund wins and doesn't concede, your balance will grow.

Juventus v Wydad, Sunday, 17:00 BST

Juventus v Wydad
Juventus v WydadAFP

Wydad Casablanca finished third in Botola and were delighted to qualify for the revamped Club World Cup. Excitement soon turned to dread when added to Group G alongside Manchester City, Juventus, and Al Ain. Casablanca will suffer some heavy defeats before they return home.

Juventus finished fourth in Serie A and it would be a massive upset if they were to end this competition as world champions. But the Old Lady has enough quality to win this game and secure a place in the next round. Add Juventus to your weekend accumulators, winning off a notoriously stubborn defence.

Tip: Juventus win to nil @ 10/11 (be365)

Bet explanation: You want Juventus to win and Wydad to draw a blank.

Man City v Al Ain, Monday, 02:00 BST

Man City v Al Ain
Man City v Al AinAFP

Al Ain finished fifth in the UAE Pro League, a full 19 points behind champions Shabab Al Ahli. They failed to win more than half of their 26 league games, scoring 56 and conceding 32. They were welcomed to the United States by Juventus on Thursday, and I predict Manchester City will crank up the heat.

Pep Guardiola's Premier League side lost their title to Liverpool this term, but won this trophy and the European Super Cup in 2023. The Citizens haven't been at their best, but are already building for the future and spending in the summer transfer market. I expect a solid win for Man City on Monday morning.

Tip: Man City win to nil @ 4/9 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Man City wins and keeps their opponents from scoring, you'll get the profits.

Real Madrid vs Pachuca, Sunday, 20:00 BST

Real Madrid vs Pachuca
Real Madrid vs PachucaAFP

Real Madrid are European football's most successful team, having won the UEFA Champions League or equivalent more times than any other side. Blancos have also lifted this trophy five times between 2014 and 2022. That hard-earned experience will be worth its weight in gold this year, and many respected pundits pick Madrid to land a sixth title.

Madrid won their last three La Liga games, scoring two goals in each outing. I expect them to do something similar against Mexican opposition. Pachuca achieved little of note in Liga MX this term, and they'll look out of their league against the sporting celebrities of Real Madrid. Back them for another 2-0 win after beating Sevilla and Sociedad by that scoreline.

Tip: Real Madrid 2-0 Pachuca @ 11/2 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If the final score matches your bet exactly, you land a handsome profit.

RB Salzburg v Al Hilal, Sunday, 23:00 BST

RB Salzburg v Al Hilal
RB Salzburg v Al HilalAFP

RB Salzburg finished as runners-up in the Austrian Bundesliga this season, ending just two points behind champions Sturm Graz. The Red Bulls won each of their last two league starts, beating Rapid Vienna 4-2 at the end of May. They face a tough test here, but know a win would budge them closer to the next round.

Saudi Pro League runners-up Al Hilal finished eight points off the pace domestically after failing to win 11 of 34 games. They were the league's highest scorers, but conceded more goals than any other team in the top six. I fancy them to continue their scoring ways, but we're taking RB Salzburg to win.

Tip: Both score and RB Salzburg win @ 9/2 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You want Salzburg to win the game, but their opponents to score at least once.
