Fluminense v Al-Hilal, Friday, 20:00 BST

The first of four quarter-finals, and the only one played on Friday, sees Brazilian Serie A side Fluminense play Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal. Few expected either to make it this far, but they're going strong and both believe they have what it takes to go all the way. But there's only room for one team in the semi-final, and I'm picking Fluminense.
Renato Gaucho's men beat Inter Milan in the Round of 16, scoring inside three minutes and seconds before the final whistle. The bare result suggests a tight match, but Fluminense dominated this year's Champions League finalists from start to finish. They have a sturdy defence and patient attack, but also boast the players needed to hurt opponents.
Al-Hilal enjoyed an upset win of their own when eliminating Manchester City, but the Saudis conceded three goals in the process, needing extra time to get over the line. Back the fresher team to continue their journey.
Tip: Fluminense win @ 17/10 (bet365)
Bet explanation: If Fluminense win without the need for extra time, you get the profits.
Palmeiras v Chelsea, Saturday, 02:00 BST

Football fans burning the midnight oil this weekend have a quarter-final showdown involving Brazilian Paulista champions Palmeiras and the fourth-best team from the English Premier League, Chelsea. Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia provides the setting, and traders working at major bookmakers price the Brits as favourites. However, this tournament has already produced several unexpected results. Can Palmeiras upset the odds?
Chelsea finished second in Group D, behind another Brazilian side, Flamengo. The Blues won two and lost one, progressing with six points, having scored six goals and conceded three. They then hammered fellow Europeans FC Porto 4-1 last Saturday in the Round of 16, but needed extra time to get through. Chelsea were the deserved winners of that match, but a lengthy delay due to the weather disrupted their flow, causing anger in the camp. Everyone connected to the Londoners will want to put this game to bed as early as possible to avoid a repeat.
Palmeiras won Group A with five points, before edging Botafogo 1-0 in the Round of 16. They also needed extra time to pass their rivals. I predict a tight match, but expected Chelsea to be the odds-on favourite. The fact they're bigger than they should be makes them easy to back.
Tip: Chelsea win @ 1/1 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need Chelsea to win the match in normal time.
PSG v Bayern Munich, Saturday, 17:00 BST

Saturday brings the most exciting fixture from the quarter-finals, as PSG play Bayern Munich at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. The home of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons provides a spectacular backdrop to a Club World Cup match that's guaranteed to live up to the occasion. Will the French Ligue 1 and Champions League winners progress, or will the kings of German football book their spot in the semi-finals?
FCB finished second in Group C with six points after losing to eventual pool champions Benfica in the final match. They then defeated Brazilian side Flamengo 4-2 in the previous round, brushing aside the previously unbeaten winners of Group D. The statistics show that these sides have never drawn, with Munich boasting eight wins and PSG showing six. But the Germans won each of the previous four, all without conceding a goal. That's good enough for us.
PSG wiped the floor with Inter Milan in the Champions League final and have been playing with confidence in the United States, hammering Inter Miami in their last match. But Munich represents a serious step up in class, and the odds on Bayern are difficult to ignore.
Tip: Bayern Munich win @ 21/10 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You want Munich to beat PSG without extra time or penalties.
Real Madrid v Borussia Dortmund, Saturday 21:00 BST

Real Madrid face fellow Europeans Borussia Dortmund on Saturday at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. The Spaniards enter as this competition's most successful team, having lifted the Club World Cup trophy five times between 2014 and 2022. Xabi Alonso's men kick off as the firm favourites with all major online sportsbooks, but that means nothing in the States. We've already lost several prominent names in the outright betting, including Manchester City and Inter Milan. Could Blancos be the latest big-name casualty?
Real Madrid did as expected when winning Group H with seven points, scoring seven goals and conceding two. They progressed to the knockout rounds, where they beat Juventus 1-0 on Tuesday evening, thanks to a winning goal from Gonzalo Garcia in the 54th minute. I expected a more comfortable margin of victory, but the best team won, and it looks like Madrid are going through the gears. They're improving with every match, working everything off a solid defence, keeping a clean sheet in their previous two games.
The head-to-head statistics show that Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have met 16 times previously, with Real winning eight, Dortmund taking three, and the remaining matches ending in a draw. Interestingly, Dortmund hasn't beaten Madrid in more than ten years, a run of six games. Back the pre-match favourites to win to nil.
Tip: Real Madrid win to nil @ 9/4 (bet365)
Bet explanation: Real Madrid must win the match in 90 minutes without conceding a goal.
