British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams has recorded the new official FIFA walk-out anthem that will debut at the Club World Cup on Saturday.

The multi award-winning star recorded the anthem, entitled 'Desire', alongside famed Italian artist Laura Pausini as part of his new ambassadorial role with football’s governing body.

Williams, 51, wrote the track with long-time collaborators Karl Brazil, Owen Parker and Erik Jan Grob.

The track will debut later today at the 65,000-seater Hard Rock Stadium when MLS side Inter Miami take on Egypt's Al Ahly in the opening game of the tournament.

It will be played at each game of the Club World Cup as the two teams walk on to the pitch, and at all future FIFA matches worldwide including at the World Cup in the US next summer.

FIFA said the anthem "captures the intensity, pride and unity that defines football at its highest level."

The former Take That artist said: "Music and football bring people together like nothing else - each with their own universal language of connection, spirit and community.

"Football and music have both been part of my life for as long as I can remember, so this means a lot to me on a personal level."

Williams, who is club president of newly promoted Port Vale, added: "I’ve grown up watching the walk-outs, the anthems, the drama - so writing and recording the official FIFA anthem is a real privilege."
