It's matchday three across the Club World Cup 2025, including in Group G. It's one of the few lopsided pools in the competition, with Manchester City and Juventus sprinting clear to cement the top two qualification places. You can read an in-depth preview of the Old Lady vs the Citizens at Flashscore News, including a bet at attractive odds.
On this page, we focus on the other match in the division. Wydad Casablanca plays Al Ain on Thursday from 20:00 BST, a fixture you can follow live on DAZN. The Audi Field in Washington, DC, home of the MLS side DC United, provides the backdrop, but there's nothing to play for here. Both teams enter without a point on the board, while Juve and Man City already have six each, securing their progression.

Moroccans out of their league
Wydad Casablanca qualified for the revamped Club World Cup 2025 as winners of the 2021/22 CAF Champions League. This summer was the team's third appearance in the competition, but even the dyed-in-wool followers of Wydad knew staying longer than the minimum three games was a big ask. When dropped into a pool alongside European superpowers Manchester City and Juventus, the writing was on the wall for a side that finished third in Batola this term. Unfortunately for WAC fans, Group G went as expected.
Amine Benhachem's men opened the show against English Premier League giants Manchester City, falling to a 2-0 defeat at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. A healthy crowd of 37,446 fans watched on as Pep Guardiola's team eased to a convincing 2-0 victory on matchday one, achieved thanks to goals from Foden and Doku, both goals coming in the first half. Wydad performed better than expected, but they never looked like getting anything from the match.
Their second outing came against Serie A legends Juventus, again at the home of NFL side the Philadelphia Eagles. It was the same venue and more of the same on the field of play, with the Old Lady strolling to a 4-1 win, with more than 30,000 spectators in attendance. South African attacker Thembinkosi Lorch found the net on 25 minutes, but it proved little more than a consolation for a team that was out of its depth against the former kings of European football. Having held their own in the second half against Man City and managed to get off the mark with a goal against Juventus, a win at the third time of asking looks likely.
Tip: Wydad Casablanca win @ 13/10 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need Wydad to win the game by any scoreline.
UAE side suffer nightmare start
United Arab Emirates side Al Ain booked their spot at the Club World Cup in the US as winners of the 2023/24 AFC Champions League. They finished fifth in the UAE Pro League, but hoped prior CWC experience would stand them in good stead against some of the newbies. The team known as The Boss knew securing a top two finish wouldn't be easy, appreciating they required a strong start to have any chance of extending their stay in the States. Wanting to beat a team like Juventus is one thing; actually achieving it is something very different, as Al Ain found out.
Going head-to-head with the 36-time Serie A champions at Audi Field in Washington DC ended in a painful lesson. Al Ain suffered the worst possible start to their challenge: a morale-crushing 5-0 defeat before 18,000 fans. It took the Italians just 11 minutes to go ahead, with Kolo Muani breaking the deadlock. The same player was on the scoresheet again in added time at the end of the first half. An opening game horror show for Al Ain also saw goals from Yildiz and a Conceicao brace. The beaten team were never a threat to their big-name opponents.
Fans hoped for more luck when making their second appearance. They knew it was unlikely when they were matched with Manchester City so soon after Juventus battered them from pillar to post. Many respected pundits predicted another high-scoring defeat. Al Ain did lose to Man City, and it was even worse than before. They were slaughtered by the Brits, ending with a humiliating 6-0 reverse. Two games played, 11 goals conceded, none scored, and zero points on the board. It's difficult to trust Al Ain, and things will get worse on Thursday.
Tip: No both teams to score @ 6/5 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need at least one team to draw a blank in this match.
Aim higher in the specials
The form of both teams at the CWC 25 led us to a bet on Wydad to win, with a second pick on no from the both teams to score market. Both wagers make sense as single bets, but if you're looking for a play at more attractive odds, there's plenty in the specials designed to catch your eye. We'll combine our first two picks, taking Wydad Casablanca to win to nil. Hopefully, the Moroccans can put the first two games behind them and finish on a high to deliver fans three points before heading home.
We take very little confidence from Wydad's performances on matchdays one and two. They were well beaten by both Man City and Juventus, but if you look beyond the bare results, there's slight encouragement. Casablanca played a goalless second half against Man City after losing two in the opening 45 minutes. They then scored their first goal of the competition when they found the net against Juventus. The score was stuck at Juventus 2-1 Wydad Casablanca between the 25th and 69th minute, before Juve wrapped things up with two late goals.
We're working hard to find a reason to support Wydad against Al Ain, but there's no doubt the Moroccans have handled themselves slightly better at this level than their opponents from the UAE. Securing three points in their final game to avoid finishing bottom of Group G will prove that. Wydad have been competitive and scored a goal. Al Ain have been uncompetitive and failed to score in more than 180 minutes of play, conceding 11 goals.
Tip: Wydad Casablanca win to nil @ 10/3 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need Wydad to win the game and keep a clean sheet.
