After beating Real Madrid 2-0 on Sunday, Barcelona were once again crowned LaLiga champions, securing their second title in a row and their 29th La Liga title overall.

That win over their eternal rivals was Barca’s 11th in a row in the league, highlighting that they are the best team in Spain at the moment.

Barca’s Wednesday night opponents, Alaves, are in a very different predicament from their Catalonian counterparts.

They currently sit in 18th and need to pull together a great run of results if they are to have any hope of staying in the top division.

They will be hoping that the celebrations ran late into the night for Barcelona and, with nothing left to play for, they also take their foot off the gas.

Barcelona team news

Hansi Flick will be without the services of Lamine Yamal, as he nurses a hamstring injury. It is expected that the young Spaniard will not return before the end of the season. Raphinha, who just came back from a hamstring injury of his own, is suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards.

Andreas Christensen is back in training following a serious knee injury, but this game comes too soon for his return to the pitch. It will be seen whether the manager decides to change the team significantly so that some of the fringe players can get some game time.
