The Portuguese star, despite his desire to stay in London, will not continue as a Blues player because the new coach, Mauricio Pochettino, has told him that he does not fit in his plans.
In this way, Felix will finish his loan spell in June and will return to being an Atletico player for all intents and purposes. The problem is Diego Simeone doesn't want him either. And neither the Portuguese's various statements since he left, making hints at the Argentinian coach, nor the team's performance, which has gone up a lot since his departure, help the Portuguese in the face of a possible return.
"The coach (Pochettino) doesn't count on him and now when he finishes his commitment with Chelsea, he will come here and we will see what happens. We don't have anything planned," Cerezo told El Chiringuito.
The president had only found out a few hours earlier that Chelsea were not going to try to extend his stay, so he has not yet spoken about Felix's place or possible departures.
Morata sets an example
It is not the first case of a player who leaves the team because of disagreements with the coach and, in the end, ends up returning and being important. The latest example at Atlético is Álvaro Morata. Without being an undisputed starter, he has continued to score goals and has been one of the club's best attacking assets, especially in the first part of the season.
If Felix finally has to continue at the Wanda Metropolitano, he already has a mirror to look at himself in order to turn the situation around.
