In recent hours, speculation had arisen that Victor Font, a candidate for the presidency of Barcelona, had held meetings to secure a preferential option for a future transfer of Erling Haaland to the Catalan club, should he be elected president.
Undoubtedly, this would have been a powerful electoral move to challenge Joan Laporta, the clear favourite for re-election. However, hopes faded as quickly as they appeared, since Rafaela Pimenta, agent of the Manchester City striker, has denied any contact.
"I’ve said many times that we have a lot of respect for Barcelona, a lot of admiration, but there has been no contact - neither with Erling Haaland nor with his management - from FC Barcelona regarding a transfer," the renowned Portuguese agent stated in an exclusive interview with El Chiringuito.
"Also, the player renewed his contract just a few months ago, he’s very happy at Manchester City, everything is going well, and honestly, we have nothing to discuss about a transfer when the situation at Manchester City is so positive," she concluded.
