Real Madrid begin their spell at the top of La Liga with a challenging away fixture against Osasuna, a match that falls between the tense Champions League tie between Los Blancos and Benfica.

Alvaro Arbeloa’s side have been at the centre of controversy in recent games for various reasons: penalties, Vinícius’ dives, the abuse directed at the Brazilian... It seems likely that the clash in Pamplona will also be intense and hard-fought.

Osasuna, who have been very solid at home this season (W6, D3, L2), are unbeaten in their last five league games (W3, D2), scoring two or more goals in four of those matches.

Lisci’s men are enjoying their best spell of the campaign and will test their positive momentum against the league leaders, who have won their last eight LaLiga fixtures.

Goals for both sides

Real Madrid are clear favourites for this match, but we think betting on both teams to score is a good option.

Osasuna average almost two goals per home game in the league (20 in 11 matches), while Real Madrid arrive with 53 goals in 24 rounds and average two per away game (24 in 12 matches).

Five of the last seven meetings between these sides in Navarra have also seen both teams find the net.

Tip: Both teams to score – 4/6 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: This bet wins if both teams score at least one goal.

Madrid goal after the break

13 of Real Madrid’s last 17 goals have come in the second half. Los Blancos have scored after the interval in 13 of their last 14 games across all competitions, and in their last eight league matches.

Four of the last six goals Osasuna have conceded in the league have also come in the second half.

Tip: Madrid to score in the second half – 4/9 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: This bet wins if Madrid score at least once in the second half.

Budimir to hit the target

Ante Budimir didn’t manage a shot on target in Osasuna’s last match against Elche, despite having two attempts, but he had scored in the previous four rounds (five goals) and also found the net in three of Osasuna’s last four home games.

The Balkan striker has also scored in three of Real Madrid’s last four visits to Pamplona. For all these reasons, we expect Budimir to get at least one shot on target.

Tip: Ante Budimir to have more than 0.5 shots on target – 2/5 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: This bet wins if Budimir manages at least one shot on target, regardless of whether he scores.
