Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford could stay at Barcelona once his loan ends next summer.
Barcelona are said to be pleased with the progress of Rashford who bagged a brace against Newcastle United in the Champions League last week. The 27-year-old has two goals and two assists in his last three games and has impressed many Spanish supporters so far.
It is clear that his Old Trafford career is over and he will not be returning to United with the hopes of featuring for the side who he has effectively cut ties with.
However, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague spoke to Sky Sports about how it is too early to suggest he will stay with Barcelona.
"I think it's early to say, I'm going from what I'm hearing from the club.
"Quite clearly, he adds something different and the idea is, having learned about the positional game when he was Aston Villa, he now goes to Barcelona where he is applying that.
"People say within the camp he needs to rebel against the situation. If he's not playing, he needs to work harder or at least make them feel that he really wants it, but he's not that kind of person.
"What he is is that when he gets the opportunity, he takes it with both hands, as he did with the two goals (against Newcastle).
"He came on at half time for Raphina, which is a big thing, that shows that there's trust in him and he's got to keep going. January, February that will be perhaps the time to decide."
Rashford’s situation is interesting as Robert Lewandowski, who turned 37 last month will likely see out his current deal which expires at the end of the season.
The England international needs to impress if he is to replace the legendary striker however, as manager Hansi Flick watches him closely.
