Sevilla have completely turned things around. And in just three games. After the defeat to Osasuna, the dressing room was devastated and the team in the relegation zone.

Luis García Plaza, the Andalusians’ manager, even admitted to seeing players lying on the floor and crying after. But in just half a month, Sevilla have managed to reverse the situation.

They have picked up all nine points available with wins over Real Sociedad (1-0), Espanyol (2-1) and Villarreal (2-3), the last of which came after trailing 2-0.

As a result, Sevilla now sit twelfth with 43 points, four clear of the drop zone with only two games left in the season.

Real Madrid bounced back after their defeat in El Clásico by beating Real Oviedo 2-0 in the midweek fixture at the Santiago Bernabéu. Álvaro Arbeloa’s side did what was required against a bottom-placed team already relegated, but without the flair that would have helped improve their image after a largely disappointing season.

With nothing left to play for since their Champions League exit in Munich against Bayern, the only aim for Los Blancos is to try to win their last two matches and close out a campaign in which off-field issues have often overshadowed the players.

After a week dominated by Florentino Pérez’s statements, it’s time to focus again on the pitch, at the always tough Sánchez-Pizjuán.

A draw could be enough at the Sánchez-Pizjuán

For the first prediction, we’re looking at the league table and Sevilla’s situation. Normally, Real Madrid would be clear favourites to win this match; however, the inconsistent form of Los Blancos and the hosts’ need for points - who believe they still need something more to mathematically secure safety - changes the picture.

Arbeloa’s side are still favourites, but the market suggests that an away win is not as straightforward as it might be on other occasions.

While the most optimistic fans are eyeing a late push for the Conference League, survival remains Luis García Plaza’s goal.

The manager knows that staying up is tougher than ever and that the 43 points his team have may not be enough, given the positive runs of many teams at the bottom.

That’s why a draw could be enough for the hosts, although we also consider a Madrid win, as they need to restore their reputation.

Tip: Real Madrid win or draw - 4/11 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: If Madrid avoid defeat at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, you win this bet.

Better attacks than defences

For the second prediction, we focus on goals. Sevilla have the second-worst defence in the league with 58 goals conceded, just behind Levante’s 59. Defensive problems have been a constant, keeping the Andalusians in trouble for most of the season.

This, combined with Real Madrid’s attacking potential, makes it very likely that Luis García Plaza’s side will once again fail to keep a clean sheet, something that has happened in 10 of their last 11 matches.

Madrid, for their part, have also had some defensive issues, although in their case, the likelihood of Sevilla scoring at least once is more down to the hosts having so much at stake in this final stretch. The ‘Merengues’ may show some complacency in this regard.

It’s also worth noting that they have only kept a clean sheet in two of their last 12 official matches in all competitions. Finally, it’s notable that both teams have scored in four of the last five head-to-head meetings.

Tip: Both teams to score - 8/13 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: Both teams need to score, regardless of the result, for this bet to win.

The player with the most yellow cards in LaLiga

Tension has been a constant for Sevilla all season. Their agonising situation at times has led them to have the player with the most yellow cards in LaLiga EA Sports 2025-26.

That’s José Ángel Carmona, a clear candidate to continue that trend in a match that could be decisive for Sevilla. With just two games left, the full-back has been booked 13 times, one more than Domingos Duarte, his closest rival in this ranking.

The 24-year-old defender has already served two suspensions for accumulating yellow cards. He missed the match against Atlético de Madrid on 11 April after reaching 10 bookings. And in just a month, he’s already two away from another suspension.

Carmona also comes into this match having been booked in each of his last three games, in wins over Real Sociedad, Espanyol and Villarreal. Vinicius is expected to be his direct opponent, which will force the full-back into constant duels against one of the world’s most dangerous players.

Tip: José Ángel Carmona to be booked - 13/8 @ bet365

Bet Explanation: This bet wins if José Ángel Carmona is booked in this match against Real Madrid.
