Frank Magri netted a dramatic 91st-minute equaliser for European contenders Toulouse as they denied Monaco a fourth consecutive H2H away win.

It was a first half to forget for Toulouse, both on and off the pitch, with the hosts falling a goal behind and the players having to confront fans for disrupting the match.

The goal itself was a stylish one, with Mika Biereth picking out Takumi Minamino at the back post where the ex-Liverpool winger was on hand to tap home into an empty net.

If not for a scuffed Breel Embolo strike, Monaco would have found themselves two goals to the good at the break, but the half was brought to a temporary halt because of offensive chants being sang by the Toulouse fans.

After a troublesome first half, Toulouse reacted well after the interval and began to fashion opportunities of their own. The home fans and players were calling for a penalty when Thilo Kehrer appeared to bundle down Vincent Sierro inside the area, but the referee was having none of it.

Magri spurned the home side’s best sight of goal, with the striker skewing a header wide from 12 yards out.

The pressure from Toulouse continued and an equaliser eventually arrived when the ever-dangerous Magri capitalised on a mix-up at the back to take the ball around goalkeeper Radoslaw Majecki and roll home to secure a hard-earned point.

It’s a result that keeps Toulouse out of the European spots for now, but Carles Martinez Novell will no doubt be buoyed by his side’s second-half comeback against a Monaco side who remain outside the top three.
